Totally Thursday Penguins!! (Read 6 times)

Singer who runs a smidge

The "Penguin" daily threads were originally conceived to emphasize that all members of the community have a place on the boards. Encouragement, motivation, a little love nip (you will love one, give it a try!) or even a little kick in the pants when needed -- it can happen here. Basically, we celebrate just getting out there and moving our tails! What is "slow"? "Slow" is a perception but one of the common benchmarks is the 10:00/mi pace; but there's no firm line. In fact, there are many of us that have slipped past this, and just hope that no one notices and revokes their "igloo privileges."  And some penguins don't run at all, we just hang out for the company! It can be confusing for the forum newbies, but we're not one of the teams in any of the fine games. It's a totally open group, so stop lurking, post an introduction of yourself dive in and join the fun! No application necessary! There might even be a lovely picture for Scotty (we love pics!)

When it's all said and done, no one remembers how far we have run.  The only thing that matters is how we have loved.

Hiya Penguins!  My dentist appointment was smooth, although DH and I usually schedule ours for the same time, and I'm hearing things like "new retainer" and "crown" and "two fillings" coming out of his cubicle, so I know there's going to be some $$ changing hands.  Well, as long as one of us has good health, teeth, and not so bad eyes ...

Have y'all heard about the tunnel collapse on the Hanford Nuclear Waste Site?  Yeah, that's about 30 miles from where I did my postdoc.  I still have friends (and family) in the area, but they assure us that the news is making it out to be more than it is.  Go figure!

      Barking Mad To Run

Up early this morning to beat the rain that is coming our way after work today.  Did 3.2 miles around the campus of the university where I work.  Very humid - temp around 75 degrees, humidity 95%, dewpoint  in the 60s, gaaack.

On Wednesday night I put in 3.2 miles at Lackland Air Force Base.  The wind was crazy, with periodic gusts up to 25 mph.  After I got back to the gym, did a weight training circuit.

Tuesday after work was hill work.  4.2 miles of hills done.

          Ginny, how are you feeling?

Afternoon!  I went to Orange Theory this morning and I have Pilates and 7 miles tonight.

HopesMom, LOL.  That's hilarious because that would be something I would hear from hubby's cubicle.

            Scotty, nice run.

Ginny, hoping you are feeling better.

My fever is gone, but the coughing persists. I miss running, but have no energy to even do the stationary bike.
