I am freaking the F@^K out people!!!!
I put in the mileage, the hours and now the taper and now I am freaking focusing on that damn weather forecast.... it is driving me nuts! I am looking at 3 different sites - weather.gov, accuweather.com and 14wfie and I have to say so far I like accuweather.com's forecast for this week and this weekend. The other two are predicting rain on Wednesday then thunderstorms from Thursday to Sunday
The facebook page says that the trails handle rain really good, so if it is just rain we get but nice temps at the start, I've got no problem with that. I am not expecting to PR at this marathon, hell I don't expect to finish under 5 hours..... 2,068 feet of elevation gain will be the most I've ever dealt with during a run so that will be challenging.
Last year's two trail half marathons were both around 800 feet of elevation gain, and this year I am doing the Harmonie Trail Marathon whereas I did the half last year (they only had the half as it was their first year with this race) and the loop was around 880-900 feet of elevation gain.
But that isn't my concern, my concern/fear is the chance of lightning and the cancelling of the race and then my having to wait 11 more weeks for my next chance at a trail marathon ......
Please help me people!!! Pray that there is good/decent weather all this week down at Grand Rivers, KY... or at least no damn thunderstorms this Saturday in Grand Rivers, KY!!!!

PRs
5k - 24:15 (7:49 min/mile pace)
10k - 51:47 (8:16 min/mile pace)
15k -1:18:09 (8:24 min/mile pace)
13.1 - 1:53:12 (8:39 min/mile pace)
26:2 - 4:14:55 (9:44 min/mile)
You're running a marathon and only checking three sites for weather? You're doing it wrong.
Also, whatever accuweather says, it's going to be the exact opposite. lol
race obsessed
Remember they all have to run in the same conditions...
So shit weather may kill a PR... but it doesn't kill the Race!

If you read her post, she isn't worried about running in the rain, she's worried it will be cancelled for thunderstorms.
Former Bad Ass
I guess this is not the time to say accuweather is super inaccurate?
Damaris
I didn't say it was accurate, I said I liked what it said better than the other two.
And damn it, give me some other weather sites!!!
Like onemile said, I ain't looking to PR... I am just wanting to run this race, not have it cancelled lol.
I'm in panic mode.
Are we there, yet?
You've got more than the weather to worry about. Seismologists say there is a 25-40% chance of a 6.0 or greater earthquake in that area in the next 50 years.

+1. In spite of their name, I find these idiots are notoriously inaccurate.
