Former Bad Ass
It’s great until you don’t realize that until you get there and the little hole in the wall you’re in doesn’t accept credit cards
That's why I only stay in chain hotels because there are still hotels that don't accept credit cards? Sheesh.

Well of course he’ll be a fucking hero and martyr to millions of ‘Muricans, as yet another victim of the woke mob and liberal cancel culture. Have not seen the Morning Show but everyone seems to like it and it’s on our list. We only have Apple TV+ for a year from buying a new phone, I doubt we’ll renew when we have to pay. Doesn’t seem like too much we’d miss and we have like every other streaming network. Ted Lasso is good, but the 2nd season not as much as the first.

True.
I'm in the same boat as you regarding why we have Apple TV +. The Morning Show is good. Definitely not a 'feel good' show, but definitely is a good commentary on our society. We are late to the Ted Lasso train, and have binge watched the 1st season in 2 days.
Lol, right? Like how in the world can that actually be a thing in 2021?!
Well she did say it is "not a hotel per se," so I'm not sure exactly what it was. Hostel? Cabin? Just some guy renting out his place?

Plus, covid?! So many places try to avoid cash. Even some of our local food trucks are on-line orders ot credit card only.
ETA, I guess if you don't take credit card, less paper trail of the transaction......It's a pet peeve of mine when hair salons say "due to IRS regulations, we do not accept credit card tips". Um, no such regulations exists. You just want cash so you don't have to pay taxes, both business and individual, on those tips.
LOL. Even a car with a mattress in it. Whatever it takes to make a buck!
Same! That was a noticeable change after covid hit.
Super B****
It was kind of a mix of the above... a few little "houses," the guy who owned it lived in one of them. I didn't know any of this when I booked, I just took it because it was inexpensive and on the bus pickup route for the dive shop!
Also, it was pre-COVID, so contactless wasn't a big thing back then.
chasing the impossible
because i never shut up ... i blog
I'm just shocked that people still use cash...
Not many do! I do occasionally, for transactions <$5. I can’t remember the last time I went to the ATM.
I do remember. I had to pay someone in cash (I think it was the Sole TM guy?). The other day I opened my wallet and there was a bunch of cash there and I was like WTF is this doing here? LOL.
I had withdrawn a bunch of cash in January 2020 because we were going to a casino on PA. We gambled $0 because every single table was packed. Less than I week later, I got the virus from hell & then everything closed.
DH had to pay the classic car transport guy 2x in cash. First time taking it from MIL's house to his shop and then from the shop to our garage. He did not get a discount for needing to push the car up our driveway.
