The McMillan pace calculator  is useful to me. It gives me an idea of what my training paces should be in relation to each others and to some of my recent race results.

Most of us know Marathonguide.com, but maybe some new runners are unaware of this site which lists and rates most marathons all over the world. I use it all the time and have made many contributions to it.

Another one of my all time favorites is Find My Marathon. I use the site essentially to compare the courses and conditions (such as average weather on race day) between different marathons. You can also create your own pace band there.

Ha! Another one we can argue about! But yes I have that site bookmarked & use it all the time.

There is a comparable site (race time predictor + training paces) from Daniels.

Race finders - the two I use most:

          findmymarathon.com (specific to marathons, naturally)

          runningintheusa.com (for all races)

Not sure what kind of coverage these sites have for Canada!

Sorry I was distracted, too busy age-grading all my PR's.

Athlinks and Sportstats (for some Canadian and American races) for race results. But please do not look up my name as there are apparently 4 of us with the same name and some are slower and other faster than me and I really do not like to be compared.    (it's a joke)

Thanks for all the explanations of age grading.  I've concluded that it's pretty irrelevant FOR ME, as I'm totally not competitive, I have been running less than 10 years so don't have much history, and apparently I don't care what ~could have been~, but wasn't.

I have been trying to use that one a bit more as of late, but have used the one on Marathon Guide for so long that it comes up automatically when I type ma into my browser.
