She Can: I know!! The message that was on the race website is no longer there! I have no clue as to what's going on but I am signing up and I need a hotel.
Just saying "Hi" quickly, and I'll try to read up later. Did 5-1/2 waddle miles this morning. It was so nice and overcast. I finished it up with a 2 minute plank. Hope to get a few more in today. Anyway, I need to shower up and get going. Hope everyone is doing well. Ohhh, and Jack, no about hearing anything more on the road work in Tucson. I tried to look it up, and couldn't find anything. I rarely drive up that way (I go to Tucson, but not northside usually.) I may eventually drive that way and see what's going on. Sorry i didn't get back to you quicker!

Return To Racing
QOTD So... would it be appropriate for the father of the bride to twerk at the reception?
Only if there is somebody taking video to post here!

Jack this one is still there:
"IMPORTANT UPDATE: DUE TO A ROAD CONSTRUCTION PROJECT, THE COURSE FOR THE 2013 TUCSON MARATHON EVENTS WILL MOST LIKELY BE ALTERED FROM MILE 21 (mile 8 for the Half) TO THE FINISH LINE. ADOT WILL PROVIDE US WITH A FINAL UPDATE IN LATE JULY AND IF REQUIRED, WE WILL RE-CERTIFY THE COURSES AS NEEDED. The course for the 2013 Tucson Marathon includes an out and back section on the Biosphere Road. Following is the course map which includes an elevation profile."
But, I know from running the half marathon, if they change up the last few miles of the race, we won't be missing much. The beginning of the race is much nicer than towards the end. Also, I know in running marathons, by mile 21+, I'm generally past caring about scenery, and am willing to follow the arrows wherever they take me.

Smaller By The Day
Holy crud! I need to check in throughout the day on my phone, and update as possible.
I got that darn tempo run into tonight. My math was off. It was ONLY 11 miles, but 52 minutes were at tempo pace (7:41 mpm). That's faster than my 5K PR. It felt pretty darn comfortable though. I think this training thing must be paying off. YAY!!!

Awood, that's good and steady improvement. P3 must have cooked you some good stuff and that cake making might have helps too.
Jerry, I am all for you twerking at DD wedding. Maybe run thru your DW first. Ha

Absolutely! Cake making makes you faster.

She Can: Thanks for the update. I am signing up tonight!
Awood: Nice work on that. Your times are looking good!
As for me, 5.1 recovery miles at an 8:40 pace. I need to slow that down just a bit.
Former Bad Ass
I had a great 8.
Nice job, Awood.
Bin, how are you feeling?
Damaris
Thanks Jack! I had a run Monday that got away from me a bit, and what was supposed to be an easy run ended up being an 8:35 pace. I'll try not to let it happen too often.
Thanks Damaris! This weekend is 16 with 12 at marathon pace. A little nervous, but pretty excited.
Awood: What is your MP for the 12?
I'm going to go with 8:30 at this point.
Sounds good. I have my first 15 miler on Sunday.
I feel like I should have something longer than a 17 miler done by now, but I have to trust the program. Also, I see some 19 mile runs with cruise intervals coming up and at least one run that will be 22 miles with marathon pace.
