This morning the gym wasn't opening until 5 AM so I decided to go for a run with Jetta then to the gym.
Then it was off to the gym.

Day 2 of my sabbatical finds the sun high in the sky, something we haven't seen around these parts in forever. I plan to run under said sun then will eat something yummy before heading over to a coworkers house and help clean up the mess of wires he has strewn about the basement floor.

Back when I was raising a family, black Friday wasn't a thing. But even when it became a thing, I have never gone out on it (I'm a procrastinator and anti-mainstream, so designating a day specifically to shop is doubly fun for me to abstain from).
I've purchased exactly one item on black Friday which was my Garmin 410 back in 2012. I actually wasn't even looking for one but the price was so ridiculously low, that it essentially bought me.
Anyway, I did stop by Best Buy yesterday after it opened at 5:00 to see if I could snag that TV I saw in the pre-sale ads and that stupid shit wasn't happening. There were so many people inside that it was like the walking dead. While they didn't have the TV I wanted out on the floor, they had hundreds of others, literally. None of which were in my price range or brand so it was pretty easy for me to keep my hands in my pockets, and walk out the door.
You probably had to be in line hours ahead of time before the doors opened to get a ticket for that TV. Not worth it.

I'm scared to even venture outside today, but I will, because I need to go to the library. I figure THAT will be pretty empty, at least! Being out of the office, I decided to try booking my dive trip (because I hate talking on the phone in general, especially when other people can listen in), and I am just as lost as ever, because the customer support specialist I spoke with had such a strong accent, I didn't understand a single word she said.

For sure. It looked like a bomb went off in the parking lot what with all the fencing, chairs and clothing scattered throughout it...like how a marathon probably looks 20 minutes after the start. lol
6 for me this morning. I really hate going in public to shop, I do 99.9% of my shopping online (including grocery). So I bought a rug and am hoping the colors work okay.

Black Friday shopping done. Will run later this afternoon. Neither traffic nor lines were as bad as I thought they'd be.

An okay 2 hour run this morning. I use Sole Insoles. This morning when I put them back in my running shoes, they didn't quite feel right. While running they rubbed in a weird place. The 3rd time I stopped to mess with them, after over an hour of running, I noticed I had them in the wrong shoes, i.e., the left insole in the right shoe and vice versa. D'oh! The run went much better after I switched them.
About 10 years ago our washer and dryer died in November and I waited at Sears in the dark to get a Black Friday special on a washer and dryer. That may be the only time I've ever purchased anything on a black friday. I've certainly never faced the sales crowds otherwise. We don't really do much for xmas gifts anyway.
Ran along the river in Eugene again; took advantage of the portapotties which were still there from yesterday's race. #winning
10 miles. Ran past the mall, which is the closest I plan on getting to one today. I avoid the mall like the plague between Thanksgiving and Christmas. And for that matter, also between Christmas and Thanksgiving.
Driving to MIL's in Lincoln City today; will probably take the slower more scenic route along the coast, because WTH.
