So apparently, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are "perhaps the best smartphones" Consumer Reports has ever reviewed. I've never owned a Samsung product, but do enjoy the freedom that the Android operating system has with being able to store and transfer files and digital media.

Anyway, I have a run staring me in the face and upon its completion I shall proceed to ESU like it's nobody's business.

      Half Crazy K 2.0

Off to work but it's my Friday! It's spring break, so hardly anyone has been in, so I've been really productive.

Docket, last year there was hardly any wind during the race. I really liked it (plus got 50% off for being a 2015 runner). AC is going downhill, but you can still make a fun weekend there. Plus, even though we have to pay for our hotel this year, were staying a block away from the start/finish and it under $200/night. The spring half had about 1500 people last year, I think fall is larger. I thought it was a good size-- limited crowding on the course. They have a cool medal this year. Only downside is non gender specific tech shirts. Any spring race around here is a crap shoot weather wise.

          Good morning!

I ran 10.1 slow miles that should have been easy, but weren't.  LRB warned me about the feeling of emptiness post-marathon, and I think he was right.  I have really struggled with the mental game the last few weeks. I haven't  even been able to get excited about racing in a month. Oh well, what a first world problem .

I hope everyone has a great day!

            Good morning!!

Hope everyone is doing well.  Had a light week last week recovering from Wrightsville.  Did some fun mountain running this past weekend at my inlaws in VA.  Back on track this week with another marathon this weekend.  This one will be a training run tho, no taper and b2b on Sunday.

Had a great double yesterday, it was so beautiful out when I got home from work that I had to go for another run, 5 quick miles in the sun, loved it!!

            Have a great day!

Those latest and greatest android phones sure are pretty.  I'd love to get a new one, but I just can't justify it when my two year old Moto X is still working like a champ.

ANYWHO, 45 minute treadmill tempo run completed this morning.  4 x 4 minutes at 6:15 pace with 3 minute recoveries.  6.1 miles total at 7:24 avg pace.  Good run...my first hard workout in a few weeks, thanks to a couple of races.  So completes today's training.

I really, really, REALLY like my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, and it takes amazing pictures as well. I just recently had to fork out $250 to have the front completely replaced due my stupidity of dropping it last July, but it was worth it.

As for today, Jetta and I got up and out the door this morning and ran 8 miles. It was 45 degrees but I still wore capris just because I already had them out. If I could just get in another 3-4 miles today or tomorrow, that would get me to 100 miles for March. I didn't expect the LBLM to really kick my mileage back that far.... oh well... lol

Morning!  I have an RD, yay!

I don't like the Samsungs.  We have those for work and every day I want to hit them with a brick. We don't have the 7 of course, just the 5 and the 6, and they are probably switching to iPhones, like the judges have, soon.  Although knowing them they will upgrade to iPhones 4 or something.  It took them 3 years to upload the newer version of IE, which sucks.

Music, thanks for the review.  I cannot do wind but if the race is not going to be like this every year, that's good news.

                  Barking Mad To Run

My thigh bruise is spreading down my leg like The Blob spreading over the city! Maybe I need Steve McQueen to come back and save me.

I did go to the doc - Gail went with me   to hear the results. The Doc is actually a runner too, so he 'got it' right away, lol; Anyway, the bruise thing is normal for a TEAR, so what I though was a pull is actually a small tear in my muscle. However, it does not hurt, etc. I asked the Doc how soon I could run. He said, well, if it doesn't hurt, you could actually run now, just don't push it, nothing very long, etc. If it still hurts when you give your first run a try, then stop and wait some more. My wife said to the doc - "Thank you! I hope he can run, he's driving me crazy!" lol. So bad news, a small tear; good news, should recover pretty quickly. Meanwhile, watching The Blob bruise taking over my leg and changing shapes has been interesting. Doesn't take much to entertain me, lol.

I jogged 3 miles to the track in complete fucking darkness then got to the business at hand; 2 strides + 4 x 1200 with 400 meter jogs. My 1200 splits were 4:43, 4:42, 4:35, 4:34.

It was a really nice workout, I am very pleased. It was also my first quality workout in the Brooks Pure Cadence 4, and those things are a dream!

8.7 miles total and not a peep from my knee while wearing an extremely light stability shoe.

I struggled with this as well.  Felt pretty good (considering) the week after and thought I was in the clear, but the sluggishness stuck with me for a month or two.  It did get better eventually.

No worries. Oh, one big downside to AC, they still allow smoking in casinos. Yuck.
