This just came in the mail. It's a ceramic tile.
NICE.
Dave
Yeah, that'd do it! Not likely representative of your fitness under better race conditions. 12 miles with 3x2mi, repeat from last Saturday. Last week: 7:22, 7:27, 7:40. Today: 7:29, 7:27, 7:27. Better.

Does it rain out there ever? I thought that's all it did but you never speak of it.
D - very nice job on the half!
cjones - will be better next time
onem - that is really cool, congrats!
was supposed to do 13 or so this AM...but I slept (or didn't sleep ) awful and did not want to get up at 6am....instead ran about 6. will do the longer run manana...have a good day everyone.
marathon pr - 3:16
Well it has been an unusually dry summer & fall. But a lot of the rain comes during the winter (while you're getting snow). And much of the rain we do get is not heavy - just a constant steady drizzle. Which in fact I ran in today. If you look at the stats, lots of places get more rain than Seattle in terms of inches. But we are at the top in number of days of rain (along with Portland).
It's not $500 but better than the generic medal
What was the registration fee? Transportation? Hotel? Less than a $1000?
$75 bucks + $25 for race day packet pickup (ouch). No hotel but a 2 hr drive (each way). So I guess $100 plus gas. But there were no beaches.
Sorry - haven't read through these yet, but thought I would check in since I haven't for a few days.
As if it matters to anyone:
Thursday - strength training class
Friday - 6+ with the group
Today - 16 at the speed of turtles stampeding through peanut butter.
Friday's highlight was a drive through the countryside with two friends to visit some cute little Amish shops - during which we also schooled the driver of a Corvette on how you should really drive on curvy, windy country roads. Today DS is spending the day with a friend, so I got to go shopping (new boots, new jeans, new sweaters... and running shoes for both DS and I) and have a nice lunch with DH at an Italian place we like.
Now, to catch up on the work I didn't do Friday, which happens to be due Monday.
Catch ya around, runnas!
20,000 miles behind me, the world still to see.
Well, that's what the dailies are for. If we only posted significant runs, onemile would feel pretty lonely around here.
Are we there, yet?
Wow! Not only an unusual award, but personalized, too. Any ideas on how you plan to display that?
2024 Races:

She just did.
Sorry the run didn't feel so good, obviously, but the way you describe it is funny.
That is a very cool AG award! LRB, here they are. Some are off because the GPSs are not friendly with certain areas there. Nice splits, but a little confusing there in mile 9. You slowed down according to Garmin but your HR went up? And mile 11 must have been a bear. That's got to be close to Max HR for you.
Very unique award, Onemile! Congratulations!

I have a tile from a half marathon, although I didn't place high enough to get my name on it
FFS. It's actually pretty cool to look at and hold in your hands.
Mine is in my running box. I still haven't figured out what to do with all of my running stuff.
