Took advantage of the 2 hour school delay and got in 7. I logged into work 30 minutes later than usual.  I suspect there will be really low attendance today. Our school does an early dismissal every Wednesday for staff meetings and training. Some counties will not transport if there is a 2 hour delay on Wednesday.

Our schools had a delayed opening today.  There weren't any flooding issues in the local streets, but I can't speak for individual homes, or even the schools (some of which have known leak/flooding issues).

No problem in my morning commute - if anything there were fewer people on the train.  No running today.

i bit of minor water in a part of our basement.  There is an is a stairwell outside outside outside stairwell to the basement with a drain at the bottom and when we have big rains water come UP the drain an we get minor water in the laundry room…. I’ll have to start looking for a tiny sump pump that will fit into the drain.

only happens once a year or every other year

addendum: the outside stairwell has a roof over it so it gets no rain; previous owner probably thought it was the rain causing the basement flooding so they added a roof over it. But it’s not. The water comes up out of the rain…. really nice clean water

          We got no snow, boo.

I have an RD so I will lift/PT but also might do Pilates depending on her availability.

3 miles. I slept very poorly. Usually I have no issue falling asleep but wake up at like 3am and then am restless for the remaining hours. Last night, I was awake forever and then was tossing and turning since 2. Ugh.

Kid had his first basketball game of the season yesterday. There were adults playing on the rec center court that were asked to leave for the kids' league to start. One guy got very hostile, yelling racial slurs and overall just losing his shit. Seemed like a mental health issue that sadly isn't so rare. I thought it was going to get physical with a few of the Dad's but the guy eventually left without further incident. This morning, Kid was still a bit freaked out. Yikes. Definitely not something I ever came into contact with as a kid.

Going to try to run 4 after work tonight. Hopefully, I can get to the park tonight. The street in front of my house is under repair. Sidewalks are tore up and street is down to one lane. I don't feel safe running on it right now.

It was 36 degrees with a light drizzle this morning; I ran 9 miles with 6x800m. The result, as they say in Chernobyl—not great, not terrible.

Temps will start dropping and they’re predicting low of 12 for the weekend, which is crazy cold for these parts. But I’m OK with that as long as no snow or ice. Which there may or may not be.

I didn't see any major issues on my run. There were voluntary evacuations from one of the waterfront areas in my county due to flooding. It was almost warm this morning until the wind really kicked up in the last 20 minutes.

'Morning!!  I ran a 9 tempo mile straight tempo block before work, expecting to get pulverized by the wind but there was none.  Since the track is buried, I ran my little 1.3 mile flat "tempo loop" seven times.  There is an elementary school on the loop so that is where I park, start, and end.

Yikes indeed.  Sigh of the times, I guess.  No doubt the rec center has this schedule posted so the nutjob shouldn't have been surprised.
