Super B****
Yes. Unless your name is Jay, 14 miles on a Thursday night sucks big time.
My name is not Jay, and that sounds fabulous.
chasing the impossible

Then by all means, go run 14 miles now!

Just jumping in to send over healing vibes to Dave!
Pfft, she once ran 14 miles to the start line of a marathon.
Are we there, yet?
I must be half the runner Jay is. I ran only 7 miles today.
2024 Races:
03/09 - Livingston Oval Ultra 6-Hour, 22.88 miles
05/11 - D3 50K 05/25 - What the Duck 12-Hour
06/17 - 6 Days in the Dome 12-Hour.
I guess I must be getting old, then. I used to have no problem with 14-15 mile runs in the middle of the week, but I've been finding it increasingly difficult recently. If I can get off work at 4 pm and I start running then, then I'm fine. But if I finish later, I have to eat first, then I need to wait a bit. I finish running late and have to go to bed right after that and... well... seems like that's all that there is to my life these days... Yes, I know, it's called marathon training. 18 friggin' times in the last 5 years. ARGH!!!!
I ran 14 miles and I'm a tenth the runner Jay is. I don't think mileage is any indication of the quality of a runner. I don't even know what a runner of quality is...
I would if it wouldn't break my pelvis into half a dozen pieces!
And back home again!
Nah, my last marathon, a teammate biked the 25 miles there and back. Now that is insane.
Eat cottage cheese! It will give you strong bones.
*gag*
I'm scheduled for a DEXA scan next month. I had a dream that the results were perfect. How nice would that be?! (So not happening.)
Amy, it's always good to see you. That was a nice garden of snow you had there! Dave, stay positive. You did all the right things, now rest and wait. You could always fly to Windsor and run the Amherstburg marathon. These days, we give our Canadian dollar to Americans, so the marathon and hotel would almost be free for you. 14 miles done, right in the middle of McMillan's easy range. So why am I so tired now? Ugh...

Thanks! 14 miles on a Thursday would be the end of me. The most I ever managed midweek was 11.
I have gone 16 on a week night a few times and it was rough.

I guess I'm a bit late. 3 easy on the TM.
DavePNW, just go for it.
I ran 11 miles, which has to count for at least 14 Jay miles, except that I didn't , you know, pick and eat an apple as I ran by the tree, or win a local 5K in the middle of my run.
Jack- Good to see you getting some miles in!
