Windy Monday Penguins (Read 12 times)

The "Penguin" daily threads were originally conceived to emphasize that all members of the community have a place on the boards. Encouragement, motivation, a little love nip (you will love one, give it a try!) or even a little kick in the pants when needed -- it can happen here. Basically, we celebrate just getting out there and moving our tails! What is "slow"? "Slow" is a perception but one of the common benchmarks is the 10:00/mi pace; but there's no firm line. In fact, there are many of us that have slipped past this, and just hope that no one notices and revokes their "igloo privileges."  And some penguins don't run at all, we just hang out for the company! It can be confusing for the forum newbies, but we're not one of the teams in any of the fine games. It's a totally open group, so stop lurking, post an introduction of yourself dive in and join the fun! No application necessary! There might even be a lovely picture for Scotty (we love pics!)

I couldn't sleep because the wind was trying to tear the siding off the house.  It took our empty trash can and blew it up the street and into the gully across from us so Jim had to go searching to find it. Noisy night.  Today is supposed to be a rest/cross training day, but I may do a few on the TM or stationary bike later.  With 22 mph sustained winds and gusts from 30-40, running outside doesn't appeal, and hiking in the woods is likely to be dangerous. I hate having to dodge falling branches and trees.

        Morning!

        Ugh at your wind, Ginny!

Either a 5 mile walk or a bike ride.

Ginny, hope that you keep your power with all of that wind!  Yikes!

D- Enjoy the walk or ride!

I will probably do the group trail run with the dogs this eve.

Busy day today! HsM was off today for her event, I think!

I took a Frisbee to the head whIle teaching PE today and am waiting in urgent care. Think this might interfere with running plans.

Oh no Melanie!  Cut or concussion?

              Zelanie

A cut.  Turned out to be NBD and they sent me home with a bandaid after I passed the concussion checks.  Maybe it was silly of me to go in, but it was bleeding pretty good at work, enough to terrify a class of 5th graders, and I didn't want to regret not having gone in 2 weeks later if it turned into something jagged and nasty.
