What do you do when you're sick? (Read 44 times)

That would be so awesome. I keep trying to figure out how to post a Track Town pic but alas. For some reason i cannot.

Here's a pic of me in front of it, not marathoning, when we were down there a couple months ago.

What? I thought it just had to be a certified course. If it's good for Boston, then it is certified...

Ok then. I did not press the matter as NYCM registration was so far away.

This  is what was posted on their Facebook page (which I'll freely translate afterwards)

I stay home from work but do my runs anyway.

          This lol.

Ill probably do a couple late fall 5ks. There’s a HM in January I’m thinking about. I’m going to run a spring marathon to try to qualify for Boston but haven’t decided which one yet...I’m thinking about trying to run Chicago, I’ve been registered for it twice and didn’t run it so it might be fun to actually run it, but idk if I’ll feel like doing a fall marathon

ROS, hope you feel better. I work for a school, so I get some (not all) snow days. I tend to sign up for spring races when I have a snow day. I swear it then angers the weather or running gods, because then it seems the snow doesn't go away. In 2015, when it seemed to snow every damn week, I registered for a half in mid February. We had snow on the ground through late March, this is really not normal for MD. That must be why I didn't do many spring races this year, only 1 snow day and it was in late March.

If anyone was wondering, in April 2019 I'll be running Boston, tyvm.

Next year is too far away. We sign up as we find them when we have time. Our usual 4th of July 5k run and a 5k run that benefits our local hospice home that cared for our best freind are always on the agenda.

But this year, we still have the Detroit Turkey Trot, maybe a Halloween 5k, our local Jingle Bell Run that's run in the evening through a nearby small town (been doing that one for years). And new for us this year is an overnight to Cleveland on December 2nd for the A Christmas Story House 5k. I've been wanting to do that one since it started. The 5k finishes at the house from the movie and includes a tour of the house. Bonus with that is there is a casino at the hotel we're staying at. Might have to make that one two nights.

You'll like it.  I did it a few years ago.  Well run event, and the river trail was nice with the trees and shade.  The finish on the track was really cool.

Hope your feeling better ROS. I usually just buy running gear when I'm sick. Haven't signed up for any races for next year yet but plan on racing some winter "off season" 5ks and another Spring goal HM. No Marathons for me. I would like to race a lot more in general next year.
