Super B****
Three weeks notice! That is awful. I continued to be in disbelief that they really thought they could pull it off, and always expected it to be cancelled. But when it got this close—it seemed they would find a way. A massive failure on the part of—IDK, someone.
That does suck... but it's better than the two days I got
chasing the impossible
because i never shut up ... i blog
Cyberic, I suggest you go to a trsip club for an unmasked lap dance if it would make you feel better.
It's actually more like 2 weeks and 2 days notice, but yeah, still much better (I insist on MUCH better, no kidding) than the 2 days you got.
I just might, wearing short split shorts, a singlet and arm warmers, and pink Nike Alpha Fly running shoes

My memory is fuzzy on the details—seemed like they kept going back & forth on the decision, and finally cancelled at a point when many out of town people would have already made the trip. Although certainly different in that it was a sudden event requiring quick decisions based on a rapidly changing situation. Whereas nothing is really different about the COVID situation in Montreal vs. a month or two ago when they could have made the same decision.
Yeah, NY canceled the Friday OF the race.
Cy, I'm sorry.
Damaris
Meanwhile, both my races this weekend have NOT canceled. Sigh. The one tomorrow which is still going forward, has around 800+ total between the HM and the 5K.
I’m sorry, Cy! It sucks, even if you half expected it.
I just realized how very much I really, really miss racing.
It's our 21st wedding Anniversary today and we will be going to Ruth Chris later tonight. I have felt so sleepy today with last night, I'm ready for bed already, lol.
It’s not that I like racing but my last race was in May 2019, and if possible I will probably somehow measure my fitness.
That is still on http://www.triconsport.com/oncourtmontreal-832571.html
Pros:
Oct 3rd, and I was training for Oct 4th.
I’ll probably be able to register last minute
Chip timed, certified course
Cons:
8 loops, so boring course
Might get cancelled
Expensive for what it is
Happy Anniversary!

I won't train for a virtual marathon. But if I trained for a real one and it got cancelled ~2 weeks out, I would still run the distance. Depends on if you want to run hard--if so then choosing this race makes sense. If you don't want to run hard but still run one, I'd recruit a few friends instead.
