    Yeah, I remember listening to the radio as they went through school closings.  One town I lived in would have the fire siren go off at a certain time to indicate a school closing (back in the days when towns had sirens mounted on telephone poles).

      Well I ended up running after all. It was 36 degrees by late afternoon, so I thought the sidewalks would no longer be icy. Wrong! They were still kind of dicey; streets were OK but then I’m dodging cars. I had a workout planned, so I was hoping the track would be OK, and thankfully it was.  Ran 9 miles total with 4x1200m. The workout went not too badly; the warmup/cooldown segments to/from the track were extra slow.
