I cherish my rest days as well. I enjoy my runs, but once or twice a week, I love to just come home, and have lots of time to cook a nice dinner, and then adsorb to the sofa for a few hours.
Therefore, my longest streak is 6 days, because I was running 6 days a week for the marathon training program I was on.
My wildly inconsistent PRs:
5k: 24:36 (10/20/12)
10k: 52:01 (4/28/12)
HM: 1:50:09 (10/27/12)
Marathon: 4:19:11 (10/2/2011)
My longest was 11 days, and most likely because of weekend timing because when healthy I run 6 day weeks.

And unlike a lot of people in this thread, I do want to beat my longest streak with the streak I am on right now. I decided this recently. I get to a certain # of days and then I say "I really shouldn't run" when I actually physically could. It's a mental thing. I want to get myself to be less willing to skip a run.
