Facepalm SaturDAILIES (Read 40 times)

Half Crazy K 2.0

It's been pouring all day, so I did weights.

FreeSoul & Cjones, nice night races! I don't think I'm ever awake at 11pm, much less able to run then.

Happylily, glad you're mostly ok. If the dog isn't ready to attack, your idea to stop and make small talk with it sounds good.

Zelanie, the overcast days can be just as bad as the sunny ones, sometimes worse because it's easy to underestimate just how warm it is.

I hear a boy yelling "Dad! Dad! There's a runner! Quick, get the camera out and unleash the dog!"

      happylily

        Cy... hahaha!

        LB, that's a great idea!

        HCK2, thank!

First thought was: "How ironic that we were talking about unleashed dogs on the forum just a few weeks ago and I laughed at all those wusses...".

          You WHAT?????

May I remind you, madam, that the talk was about unleashed dogs getting in the way. Where's the wussing material in that?

Oh, and glad you're ok Wink

Do you remember Stevie Ray Lopez from a couple of years back?  He is doing Western States today- through mile 30 so far.  They have good online stalking tools. Smile

MTA- And now he's listed as "dropped" at the last aid station, just after I posted. Boo! Hope he's OK.

Yes, I saw a pic of him before the start. That shit crazy.

It rained most of the afternoon so I ended up running outside in only 83F and 75DP.  Great run and paces although my lungs were unhappy at the end.

                  Lily, quite the adventure.

He barely lasted that first day and she wouldn't take him, saying she just couldn't handle him and the other kids. Most daycares normally give a child 1-2 weeks to adjust but she wasn't willing to do it, normally it takes Dorian a week or 2 before he is really comfortable with another adult. He has his own room at our new shop, it's the largest office there and he still prefers to run around the shop which is 3-4 times larger than our old shop. He is "structuring" his "sentences" a lot more now, though you can't understand his language, sometimes I'll catch him actually trying to say 3 words or so. It's easy to tell if he is asking a question, exclaiming something or being excited, being angry or sad, or arguing with me. I am hoping he'll start talking actual words before the end of this year, but he understands when others are talking to him and has no problem figuring out what is being said to him. He loves drawing and trying to write, he currently spells 2-3 letter words and tries to make up 4 letter words. He's perfecting his circles and working on lines and other weird drawings, he loves his magnetic doodlepad and carries it around with him.

He's crazy, he's insane and it can sound and seem like there are 10 of him in a room. He has been fully weaned off the pacifier since May 31, DH and I agreed to wean him off of it cold turkey, just took them all away that night. The first night was rough, but after that no more issues, though he does occasionally have nightmares and growing pains that wake him up in the middle of the night.

Potty training is taking a bit longer, mainly because I am new and I just try to get him in there first thing in the morning, and then I try to catch him grunting when he's about to poop but he is getting sneakier about it. He is getting more interactive with other children, during Father's Day he played a lot with his 2nd cousin who is just 6 months older than him but you would think Dorian is the older one just by how beastly he looks compared to his 2nd cousin lol. And he is about an inch taller.

Dorian appears completely normal for his age. Maybe if his language does not improve in the next 6 months or so you could consider seeing a specialist. You just wouldn't want him to start kindergarten with him having difficulty communicating with others. It can already be a situation which is stressful for some kids, it's best for him if he has all the tools he requires for that important step. Right?
