Bravo Sir, well done. Rest is deserved.
Although White Chocolate would be good, my guess is West Chester (PA, not NY).
When I saw WCrunner I first assumed WC was for West Coast, but it seems that's not it. If you don't in fact change your username, could you clue the rest of us in ? Other less likely, off-the-cuff possibilities : Water Closet, Winston Churchill, Wasn't Carbo-loaded, White Caucasian, Worst Case, Worthy Cause, Wolf Cub, Wonder Child, WiseCrack, Who Cares?, Winter Chill, White Chocolate, WumbaChumba..... Don't let this turn into a thread topic. Not a threat, I'm just sayin'....

Way to go George!
Are we there, yet?
I wish it were 55 miles. It was 55 laps which comes to 49.6 miles. I ran an extra, unofficial lap to give me 50.5 for the day. I have never had another race experience to compare with this, not my first sub-5:00 mile, not my first marathon which coincidently was my first sub-3:00 marathon as well, not my 24-hour relay, not even my first overall road race win. It will probably take a couple days for me to put together a race report, but I'll say now I couldn't have done this without the immediate support of the other runners and support crew there, both our friends and the official crews, and also all the support and encouragement I've received from all of you during the ups and downs of my training. Special mention goes to RedSparkle and TheBanshee who walked every step of the last 7-8 miles with me and made sure I followed doctor's orders.

That's awesome WC! I can't wait to read the RR, and see what your thoughts are after you've had a couple of days to let it sink in.

I saw that pic, it was a great shot. You were in fine company!
George, having done just about that exact distance myself, I know the mental demons in such an event are far different than in a standard race. I'm looking forward to seeing how you dealt with them.
Short term goal: 17:59 5K
Mid term goal: 2:54:59 marathon
Long term goal: To say I've been a runner half my life. (I started running at age 45).
Double post dammit.
It sounds like an amazing experience, on a totally different level from what I know. I can't wait to read your thoughts regarding that remarkable weekend, George. I'm glad that you were with friends the whole time.
