Former Bad Ass

Yeap.  Always, 24/7.  If my husband could talk he would tell you I've scared him sometimes when I wake up.  Medusa has nothing on me.

Rest day. After being on the west coast for 8 days for vacation, getting up for work this morning was rough. I don't think I'm awake enough to run on the treadmill and it's pouring out.

I always try to take an off day upon returning from a long trip but it's not always possible. One of the times it's absolutely mandatory though is coming home from Vegas. I usually take the 12:01 AM flight home and flying west to east is literally like flying back to the future. The flight lands at 6:00 AM Michigan time and there is no way I can turn around and go to work. None!

Had we come home a day earlier, I would have. But I already took 7 vacation days for this trip. We usually take the morning flight from Vegas. I tried to get up early (by west coast time). It worked while we were in LA. Not so much in Vegas. The shit-hole of a hotel (Flamingo) was awful. They built shops & bars between it and the Linq. Nothing like loud music from the street until 2am. And the room next to us was party girls who we could hear every word through the walls.

I've never stayed there. I've stayed at the Monte Carlo (twice), Venetian, Mirage, the Bellagio, Treasure Island (the room of which was the size of a boot LOL) and the Orleans.

When I die they can bury me in the floor at the Venetian, that place was all of that and a bag of chips.

And even my dad was yelling, it's hot, FFS!  It was feels like 100F and 80 dewpoint.  FFS.

We are going next month and have stayed at the MGM and the Aria. This year we are staying at the Ballys.  I have no idea what came to my husband but that was almost as pricey as the Aria was last year.  FFS.

We typically stay at the Luxor. We have stayed at Monte Carlo & Bellagio. No issues at any of them, although I would not recommend going out there NASCAR weekend.

You need to go see the Wynn. It's amazing. And far less crowded than most of the casinos on the strip. I was disappointed it has a big ass fence around the golf course--I ran around the back of it Saturday. That is a huge property.

Yikes. Aria is really nice, we walked through pretty much everything while we were there. Hopefully the noise from the stupid new avenue area stays contained between the Flamingo and the Linq.

I loved the Aria, but this year, everything was at least $200 a day higher than last year.  So, Bally's it is.  The race is at 3:45pm on Sunday so no issues with sleeping.  At least.

I just worry about the smoke on the casinos. You know you have to walk 2 miles inside it to your room.  I hope my lungs can take it this year.

It's ginormous but I wouldn't mind staying at the MGM. I saw a Tyson fight there once which was all sorts of awesome. Isn't Bally's like a million years old, or have they remodeled it?

                          Half Crazy K 2.0

Ballys is kinda old. Hopefully if it has been remodeled, they did a better job than the Flamingo (in the same group). MGM got rid of the lions and are now putting a bar where their habitat used to be.

The casinos didn't seem too terrible smoke wise, I don't think anyone was smoking when I was sitting at the roulette tables. And I hear you about walking forever to get to your room. We had to switch rooms Saturday night. Really fun trying to navigate through the casino at 10pm with suitcases.

Although I have stayed at some of the nice ones, it's not biggie.  We are only in the room to sleep and so long as there is a bed and a bathroom, we will be fine.

And I am talking about $250/night vs $400.  Damn I am not paying $400 for the Aria or for the Paris this year.  WTF.

8 for me. What a miserable run.  It wasn't supposed to start raining until 6:30 but of course less than a mile in it started. Super windy. I was freezing.
