Penguin Plumbing Friday (Read 11 times)

PADRunner

The "Penguin" daily threads were originally conceived to emphasize that all members of the community have a place on the boards. Encouragement, motivation, a little love nip (you will love one, give it a try!) or even a little kick in the pants when needed -- it can happen here. Basically, we celebrate just getting out there and moving our tails! What is "slow"? "Slow" is a perception but one of the common benchmarks is the 10:00/mi pace; but there's no firm line. In fact, there are many of us that have slipped past this, and just hope that no one notices and revokes their "igloo privileges." And some penguins don't run at all, we just hang out for the company! It can be confusing for the forum newbies, but we're not one of the teams in any of the fine games. It's a totally open group, so stop lurking, post an introduction of yourself dive in and join the fun! No application necessary! There might even be a lovely picture for Scotty (we love pics!)

Today is World Plumbing Day! Thank your plumber today!

      Penguin Power!

Morning PAD -  Do people actually have so many plumbing issues that they have a plumber on standby?  That seems intense.

Today will be a run/swim/run day.  My legs are still feeling pretty dead, run/spin/run did nothing for them yesterday

        Upcoming Races: Run as One 4M (4/24) * Japan Run 4M (5/8) * Brooklyn Half (5/21)

Morning, Penguins!!  I am all kinds of sleepy today, which is not unusual for a Friday, since Wednesday and Thursday are both late nights for me.  So I'm looking forward to going home this evening and crashing.  Not much rest for the weary, though, as our quartet has a lunch gig tomorrow, and then I have to create a contest makeup video tutorial for my chorus.  Woo-hoo!!  Will probably take a walk today, as it's still nice outside, and likely to be rainy this weekend.

PAD -- woo-hoo for your tempo run done!!

Jill -- I've rarely had to call a plumber, although I did have to stop a leak one time with excessive amounts of duct tape.  Probably not too efficient, but it did work.  Guessing your run/swim/run day probably won't wake your legs up, so I'll just send good vibes!!

When it's all said and done, no one remembers how far we have run.  The only thing that matters is how we have loved.

          Barking Mad To Run

got a bit of a late start on my run/walk yesterday after work, stupid traffic delayed me. So went out around 5:30 pm for a run around my neighborhood area. Got rained on, the wind was blowing like crazy, splashed into some puddles, some driver passing me by splashed me with water, did a bit of a slip-n-slide on a mud patch, and all this in only 3.2 miles, soaking wet and muddy by the time I finished..and I loved every minute of it, what a great, fun outing!

One more walk in the books!  This campus is so nice when there are no students!  Unfortunately, this is the last day of spring break.  Ah well, the peace and quiet couldn't continue forever ...

              Penguin Power!

I did a 2.7 mile super easy run instead of run/swim/run.  I just wasn't feeling the swimming thing today, but at least I wasn't completely lazy...

                Upcoming Races: Run as One 4M (4/24) * Japan Run 4M (5/8) * Brooklyn Half (5/21)

SRD for me. I did a leisurely ~ 10 mile bike ride on the local rails-to-trails with my neighbor.
