Rungry!
My calves have been feeling pretty tight this week. Halfway through my Monday easy run my lower calves began to feel strained, so I took Tuesday off. Ran Wednesday easy and had the same thing happen. At this point I'm thinking "suck it up, Buttercup!" and finished my scheduled run. Same thing Thursday. Today, my right calf tightened up after the first mile. Then I tripped and landed hard on my right foot and experienced some major pain. I sat down for while, then gimped on home. Yes, I know I probably shouldn't have been running on it in the first place. Does it sound like a minor tear or something else? Now that I've hurt myself, what do I do?

roll it... then roll it again
If one day rest wasn't enough, try two days. If you still feel some sort of pain while running after two days of rest, then try three days. I know it's frustrating... I'm having a knee and hamstring issue myself... grrr...

I don't think it sounds like a tear more than just an overuse tweak. When was the last time you took a week off?
Short term goal: 17:59 5K
Mid term goal: 2:54:59 marathon
Long term goal: To say I've been a runner half my life. (I started running at age 45).
I took a week off in early February, after my first HM. Lately, I've been running low mileage, around 20mpw. I did do a hilly trail 10K a few weeks ago - coincidence?
Nothing to do with this particular injury but long term, you may want to work on loosening them bad boys up with some gentle stretches a few times a week.

Ouch. Rest those calves and hope it's nothing major.

Thanks guys. I bought some compression sleeves to wear on angry leg, and I'll ice it when I get home from work. Guess it is time for a break.
