I ran a 5k at a 6:26 pace... in 20:08
You are so close. Slightly long course?
Oh yeah. This was a 1 second PR.
It would be more troubling if you were not able to run at or near PR pace, but I understand your angst.
The fast happy thoughts worked. 26:10, fastest5k since November 2014. I was quite comfy in my tank, but this is a family centered event, so thinking the weather will scare off the non runners.

Not bad considering you've run two half marathons in the past month!
Great job! Congratulations!
This one is put on by the local running club so I'm thinking it was probably accurate. It had a lot of turns, so maybe I just did a bad job of running the tangents or my garmin was off.
Are we there, yet?
Ya think?
2024 Races:
03/09 - Livingston Oval Ultra 6-Hour, 22.88 miles
05/11 - D3 50K, 9:11:09 05/25 - What the Duck 12-Hour
06/17 - 6 Days in the Dome 12-Hour.
Thanks for that.
No more marathons
Lots of turns take time. Damn, you are sooooo close. I know, I just know, that once you bust this 20, 19 won't be too far off.
Boston 2014 - a 33 year journey
Lordy, I hope there are tapes.
He's a leaker!
It suxs to be old.
HM - 1:46:33
Just wanting to get under 1:45 didn't cut it. 1st in age, so there is that consolation.

All of this.
7 rainy miles. Even though I took a hot shower I'm still shivering. Too bad I can't stand coffee or hot tea.

My exercise is done for the day. 53 hilly miles of biking, though it felt like the downhills far outweighed the uphills. I got home and took care of my 2 mile brick run at a swift 7:27 pace. Waiting for wife to get home from her ride so we can go ESU.
I agree with everything Dave said here! So close, onemile!
