Jimmy - that's scary about your dogs.  I've never tried Trifexis.  I won't now.  Ours has an eye infection we've been treating (from rolling in the dust in Arizona, I think) but he's doing well now that he's got the ointment and antibiotics.

Kristin - so sorry about your foot.   Will you get an MRI or just stay off it for a month or so?

I had a really good run this afternoon.  The sun came out, so we drove over to the park where DH walked Ben and I ran two loops, totaling 4 miles.  They had plowed the asphalt paths, so only the bridges were icy.  It felt so good to be running in the sun looking out at the snow covered hills.  It only felt cold when the wind was in my face.  I was able to run more or less at my normal easy pace (between 10:30 - 11:00), which is encouraging.

Thanks. Doctor is going to see me in one week and reassess. He said not much activity til then. I have to take off work til at least Friday, and then Friday-Tuesday I can do some walking in the boot but as little as possible to do my daily activities. Then on Tuesday he will look at my Xrays, evaluate my pain level and go from there.

Ahhh, Ginny this sounds so nice.  I'm glad you had a good run.  You're going to get back into the groove sooner then you think.

Kristin, again, Sad  I just feel so badly for you.

        Return To Racing

Sorry Kristin.  Did Scotty take that picture?

We did go to the track for the first time this winter.  4 boring miles.  At least we have several tracks to go to.

          Fear is a Liar

Zelanie - 60 miles Nice! How did it break down per day?

            Awood - I hear ya about not running over 10. Here's how my first 50 mile week looked a few weeks ago. I ran 6 days - 10.24, 8.1, 6.05, 10.35, 9.2, and 6.2.

Kristin - I broke my cuboid bone in a motorcycle crash years ago. I think it can dislocate and can be popped back in place

Sorry to hear about all the pet problems out there.  They love us unconditionally.

As for me, I ran 7 miles on the roads as they were beginning to freeze over. When I got home I slipped on my own driveway and almost went down flat on my back - No fall, no damage, thank God.

I'm so vegetarian I don't even eat animal crackers!

            Team TJ

              Good evening penguins.

Just a shade over 5 miles today for me.

              Sorry about your foot, Kristin.

Running for TJ because he can't.

Kristin, is the time off paid? Any bonus to getting a few days off?

I got my 3.1 in with a temp of 8°F and feels like of -5. I had a blast.

Laying down on the nice, warm couch for the second straight day. I tweaked my knee Sunday during my icy, slushy run. Yesterday, it hurt like hell. Today, it hurt a little. I was wanting to do a holiday light run this Thursday and meet some of the local runners. It is still possible, but not probable. I am thinking more like Friday or Saturday for my first run back.

Gustav - That's a good looking week of miles.

obiebyke - I don't know why I'm just not into running in that cold of temperatures this year.  That may changes as winter goes on, but I'm still not there yet.  Last year, I was all for it.

Dan / Gustav - You guys tweaking knees and slipping in the driveway are making me feel better about running on the dreadmill again.

I got 7 in tonight.  Was going to go a little further, but oh well.  It felt good, and I finished listening to one of my favorite workout songs of all time; Lunatic Fringe by Red Rider.

                      Just checked the BQ CHART

If i were "age 80 and over" I could possibly BQ also. I dunno, it's close.

I am in the minority and have no interest in BQing. In fact I have no interest in running a marathon.

                          From the Internet.

Oh Kristin that totally sucks Sad Ask about MRI if the x-ray doesn't show anything - a stress fracture won't show up on x-ray until it's healing/healed, I believe my orthopedic dr had to do the x-ray first to get insurance to cover MRI.

Jimmy - hope your pups feel better soon!

Jack/Brad - belated congrats on a beautifully executed first marathon, will comment on RR when I'm at a computer Smile I'll come say hi if you decide to run Boston in 2015!

Super busy week as usual. My lab mate/partner in crime is defending his thesis on Friday so I'm trying to get all my work done early this week in anticipation of being overly festive on Friday afternoon, haha Smile I did 2 miles on the treadmill (blech) followed by OHP and deadlifts at the gym today, 3ish miles outside planned for the morning. I've had a hell of a time trying to get out the door to run in the mornings lately because it's so dark/cold, I just ordered a reflective vest so I can't use darkness as an excuse to sleep in anymore!

                            on my way to badass

Kristin- sorry to hear about the foot.

Jimmy- My dog had a not great reaction to Trifexis.  Not nearly as bad as yours though.

Z- so impressed by your mileage!

Got my 4 done.  More snow on the ground so the going was slow.

Still waiting for the perfect race picture. 5K PR-33:52 , 10K PR 1:11:16, First HM 2:42:28

I will never BQ, so after Saturday, I will probably stay with the Half. Being a Half Fanatic seems like fun.

Damaris, your Avi looks weird! Haha,
