When we lived there, we were directly told by a native "Honey, if you weren't born here, you'll never be a Texan".

So I have been having a lot of knee soreness lately, but haven't felt it while running. Until today. My planned 10ish on the treadmill was cut down to 5. And even that was a stretch. Shitshitshitshit.

Dang, hopefully it is just aggrevated.

Morning!  RD for me, but maybe I'll do weights.  Not sure.

B+, question about the Mizuno trail shoes.  Have you tried them on very technical trails?  I wonder if they will stand running for 8 hours or so.  My ultra is very technical with sand dunes and stuff.

I haven't tried them on anything super technical, and I probably wouldn't. These are great for the occasional trails I run, which include lots of rocks and roots, but if I was doing that for several hours I'd probably want something with a rock plate or some better protection underfoot. I'm pretty sure Mike Aish wore the Kazans at Leadville last year, so there is that.

Good morning.  I'm taking a break from running today, but am going to try to get my core, glue and weight workout in later today.

            Life is good.

It probably needs a break from the belt. Getting outside this weekend may do it some good. If you are able that is.

                  I can definitely relate.

Basya: Time to roll the calf, perhaps?

Baboon: Good luck tomorrow! I hope you have some good weather. I don't know the course but I hope you can PR or come close.

LRB: I need to see that!

                  Hi, everyone else.

As for me, yesterday during DD2's swim practice, I walked a mile and ran a mile on the new track. The walking was great and the running was so-so. Now the thing that has been bothering me is a bit sore so hope to GOD that this isn't a stress fracture. I am signed up for a HM next Sunday and at this point I hope to walk/jog it or just DNS.  Sad when only a few weeks ago I was hoping for a PR effort. Oh well. My appointment is tomorrow so I hope to narrow it down.

On a brighter note DD1 is 6 for 6 on college acceptance letters and she is still waiting to hear from two more. We are so proud of that girl. She and a friend asked me to help them with asking of two boys to the Sadie Hawkins dance and they have this fun thing they planned. I have no clue what my part is but knowing those two clowns it will be fun.

That's awesome news for dear daughter #1 Jack!

Good luck with your assessment. Fingers crossed!

                    From the Internet.

3-4 on the treadmill plus some strength stuff on tap for today. I'm having a massive first world problem right now: I desperately want to try the new Tempo 7 with Boost midsole, but I do not need another pair of shoes right now and I also do not like paying full retail for shoes. My other first world problem is the water coming out of the ceiling light fixture in the guest room, but thinking about shoes is more fun than thinking about all the repairs that my house will need after this winter (insurance will cover it at least).

                      Jack congrats to your DD!

Well, I was born and raised in Virginia.  But I lived too close to Congress (9 miles)...so I got the heck out of there as soon as I could!

During my 24 years in the Air Force, I traveled all over the world, but the only place I really felt was  'home' was Hawaii.  I'd rather be  Hawaiian than Texan...but I don't think that's gonna happen either.

I forgot to take my asthma and reflux meds last night (damn it), now I cannot stop coughing.

The funny thing is when traveling abroad people know I am from Michigan before I tell them, it's weird!

I don't know what someone from Michigan sounds like but whatever it is, apparently I do. lol

Yes, but he is fast.  I am probably sticking to my trail Hokas then.  Or, since there is a change station halfway through maybe I can switch shoes like I did last year. Thanks!
