Tuesday Penguins, so confused! (Read 10 times)

Singer who runs a smidge

The "Penguin" daily threads were originally conceived to emphasize that all members of the community have a place on the boards. Encouragement, motivation, a little love nip (you will love one, give it a try!) or even a little kick in the pants when needed -- it can happen here. Basically, we celebrate just getting out there and moving our tails! What is "slow"? "Slow" is a perception but one of the common benchmarks is the 10:00/mi pace; but there's no firm line. In fact, there are many of us that have slipped past this, and just hope that no one notices and revokes their "igloo privileges."  And some penguins don't run at all, we just hang out for the company! It can be confusing for the forum newbies, but we're not one of the teams in any of the fine games. It's a totally open group, so stop lurking, post an introduction of yourself dive in and join the fun! No application necessary! There might even be a lovely picture for Scotty (we love pics!)

When it's all said and done, no one remembers how far we have run.  The only thing that matters is how we have loved.

You'd think I would be convinced it's Monday.  Instead, somehow I'm convinced that it's Wednesday.  Anyway, I had a weekend filled by pretty much nothing, which was nice.  Is everybody out of town this week?

Speaking of which, I'm out of town next week, and will not have a computer with me.  I might try to check in by phone, depends on how boring the science talks are.  I'm not sure I'll have the ability to start a thread though ...

Morning!  I am back in Miami and heading to work this afternoon.  Pilates and maybe 4 miles tonight.

HopesMom, have fun out of town.

It always seemed to me that short work weeks felt twice as long as normal ones.  Maybe because the break makes you slow down, or maybe just because you have twice as much work to do to catch up.

Hopesmom - are you going to visit your mom again?

D - how do your legs and ankle feel post-race?

Another rainy day here.  According to the local news last night, we've only had one completely sunny day during the month of May. The last 7 weekends have had some rain.  We haven't had a lot of water, just a lot of drizzle and gloom. As a runner, I've enjoyed the cooler temperatures (75 instead of 85) but it does get depressing to never see blue skies. I'll do a short run this afternoon.

I am not sore from the race but I managed to twist my ankle again yesterday in the house (damn husband leaving cat litter bags around).  So, it's taped and I should test it tonight with a run.

Ginny, send me all the rain.  We need to cool this shit down here.

Thunderstorms all afternoon meant I finally ended up doing 6 on the TM. I kept waiting for a window of more than 30 minutes between storms, but that didn't happen until after dinner.
