Barking Mad To Run
Run/walk after work yesterday on some nice trails. Sunny, blue skies, 65 degrees, nice to be out there in singlet and shorts. A very nice and easy 3.3 miles, which my legs appreciated after my no-brace-on-my-knee hill work on Tuesday night. Today will be a bit chillier, high of only 57; but still sunny and blue skies. 3 - 4 miles planned after work today.
Tomorrow and Saturday are gonna suck for we San Antonio folks. Weather changing drastically tonite as a cold front moves in. Friday a high of only 42 and Saturday - when I have a 5K - a high of only 45, with a drizzly, cold rain, yuk. Even so, it's still better than what all you 'real winter' folks are dealing with.
Happy February 26th! Today's holidays include:
National Bacon Day - It's BAAAAAACON!
For Pete's Sake Day
World Pistachio Day - Go nuts!
Levi Strauss Day - Celebrate your jeans

Easy day, no strides on the menu. Today would be a good choice for a RD. Will decide later on.
Good morning, everyone.
scottydawg, thank you for starting today's thread. I'm glad that your time on the trails was pleasant. Enjoy your run-walk after work today.
Cyberic99, have a wonderful day, whatever you do.
I did 48:10 on the TM this morning. The first 33:11 were at 6.6mph (9:05). The last fifteen minutes were at 4.0mph (15:00). I'm getting there. After work, I'll do weights before visiting my dad.
Probably a RD for me. Our snow storm finked out, we only got 1"+. Areas north of here got upwards of 8-9". I was promised snow, dammit! Anyway, it's an extremely wet snow, and I know my feet will freeze shuffling through it. It'll be gone by the weekend, I can wait to run until then.

Happy Thursday and Happy Friday For Me! Last night's run was 50 minutes easy with 6 x 20 second strides. Overall pace was 7:40, which is pretty cool. I ran back and forth on a 1.1 mile stretch of flat, clear rail trail. Just trying to avoid hills until Saturday. Today calls for a 45 minute easy run. Hoping to get in an upper body workout too.

Circuits/Strengthening before run this morning, I took it pretty easy as my shoulders are still feeling pretty sore from Tuesday's workout. This morning was mainly back focus. An hour and 2 minutes.

Then I got home, changed clothes so Rocky and I could go for our run. We got 3.3 miles in, dodging school buses and cars. Time of 32:56, a sub 10 min/mile pace which is getting back to feeling pretty easy again so that is great news.

Morning! 12 with 5 at tempo already done. We might break the record high today, but at least it was only 76F and 72DP this morning, thankfully. Pilates later.

How did that feel? Was it agony to do on the treadmill?
I have a 16 w/ 12 to do tomorrow and I think mine will be at the indoor track.
From the Internet.
8 miles on the treadmill for me - 2.5 mile warmup, 3.5 at roughly GHMP, 2 mile cooldown. Was pleased that I could hold GHMP for the full 3.5 miles no problem, hanging on for the whole 13.1 might be another story. Just going to trust the training, try to get in time on my feet at GHMP for the next 2.5 months, and see what happens on race day. I'm absolutely positive I can go sub-2:00 at this point, getting to 1:50 (or, gasp, 1:49!) will be tough. I'm excited to try though!
Last week you were near record lows. Don't you just love how quickly the weather changes?
I was over at the coast yesterday and so got in 9.8 beautiful, but windy, miles by the ocean. I need to head back this morning, and am debated whether to get out there one last time before I go. My legs are a bit tired, but it's such a pleasure to run by the ocean.
We then have a storm coming in with snow levels potentially dropping down to where I live, so I might get some winter weather after all.
Life is good.
