My latest bike crush: BMC TMR01

One of our buddies has this bike...and loves it. Our LBS sells BMC, so I get to drool over their bikes pretty much every time I ride.

Nice ride, zoom-zoom!
My CX bike, a Colnago World Cup:

As is yours! A buddy of ours has a really nice Colnago CX bike with disc brakes. I'm guessing his is similar to yours.
I should update how my first really big ride went on the new Seven über bike. Rode 103 miles through Death Valley, including up and down Jubilee Pass. I had 28mm Gatorskins on...and the ride was mostly smooth as buttah, in spite of the road being some pretty rough chipseal the entire way. Those hydro discs were amazing for controlling speed going down the pass (wasn't real comfortable going much more than 35mph with other riders passing -- some being a little squirrelly about it, at that -- and several in front of me who weren't holding a steady line, either). Pretty sure I'm going to have the excess on top of the steering tube removed soon, since I was very comfortable.
How's that crush going?
I met the TMR01's gorgeous cousin (GF01 Di2) and I couldn't resist, It was love at first sight.
My wife doesn't look too thrilled
Didn't even have pedals on it yet. I need to take another pic with the pedals and cages installed.

I really lust over one of these...
I just sold my tri bike so here is my last view of it. Not that I've been doing any long riding on the road lately -- but when I did over the past couple years I'd grab the cross bike or the road bike first. It was as if I needed to make a date to ride the thing.
So, It's sold. The new owner had a big smile when met it. It moved to Cape Cod and is going to do Lake Placid Ironman next year. I'm happy for it.
Pretty bike! Yeah, I have 2 bikes that need to find homes. I'm resigned to the fact that I'm not ever going to ride single-track again. Just watching mtb videos makes me seriously nervous. And, to be perfectly honest, it's a PITA hauling a bike to go ride trails when I can hop on my road bike or gravel/CX bike or grab my running shoes and just go from my front door. Next year I am really toying with the idea of doing my first Powerman Du on the other side of the state (Frankenmuth, MI). A TT bike would make a lot more sense for me than a languishing 29er in the basement.
Speaking of bike porn...This year I discovered I'd rather just put the road wheels on my Gunnar Crosshairs than ride the Cannondale road bike on the road. The Crosshairs has a somewhat road oriented geometry for a cross bike so any possible advantage seemed to be negated by the extreme comfort and plushness offered by the cross bike. Therefore, It's time to thin the herd. I'm going to sell my road bike. Then I'll sell the cross bike. Then I'm going to just get one bike made for me. It will be more of a road oriented cross bike than a long plush gravel oriented bike.Take a look at this from 44 Bikes. It's on the short list. Not in this exact config but similar.
I sold my tri bike this summer also to a pretty fast teen triathlete from the Twin Cities area. She ended up increasing her speed about 3mph at the Oly distance without any race wheels so she was pretty excited about the purchase. Glad it see it go to someone who had more love for it then I could give.
I decided that if I'm going to do any more triathlons, I'm going to just use my road bike. I recently finished an 11 speed 6870 Ultegra Di2 swap from the original 10 speed setup that was on it. I have less then $200 into the complete swap minus new brifters since I used the existing 10 speed 6770 Ultegra's. I did however, just order the 6870 brifters and a new 5-port junction box. I'm planning on getting some aero bars for the bike along with aero shifters along with the sprint shifters. I think that should be a good setup for any long distance or triathlon racing.

I lucked out with the Trek. I bought it for a third off retail and sold it for just 100 under that (minus tax and a couple small accessories). All told it was a good price for a three year rental and I've got a handsome start to my new bike fund. I just need to remind myself that there is no reason to jump the gun. I won't be out on it until late April at best. I need to do my due diligence and find the best bike for me. I'm thinking about $3500 so I'm all ears to the best bikes in that price range.
All those empty ports must have been begging for Di2. The GF01 disk is on my list of bikes to check out. It hits a lot of what I want but may be just a little too much of a road only bike. It's built for the rough road but I'd like to try my hand at CX again.
Just completed some upgrades to my bike today. I switched it over to Di2 11 speed this summer and added a set of aero bars and shifters to it today. I also installed a new 5-port junction box to tidy up the front end but still have the 6870 brifters to install so I can add the climbing shifter and\or sprint shifters.
