After last Saturday's HM I didn’t run Sunday for the first Sunday off since May. Ran 5.5 very easy on Tuesday morning and 7.8 easy with lots of strides or short intervals on Thursday morning. Joined the usual Saturday group run this morning and ran 18 at average pace of 9:42 with a big negative split (miles 11 & 12 were at HM pace and 15-18 at goal MP).
I have imported my training data from the beginning of November and opened it up for forum members. Have today’s run to add later. Any comments are welcome. I’m trying to decide on my January race - choices are a trail HM or trail 27 mile (an ultra, but only just) on January 6th, a marathon on January 14th or the RRCA 10 mile state championship on January 27th or none of the above. I will have a HM on Feb 17 and the Zydeco Marathon on Mar 4.
Started running at age 60.

Good Morning!
Vibe- Good luck today...don't know how them Tyler trails are gonna be for racing...just be safe out there
Pints- Good Luck to you as well!
Quick- You have some choices there....a trail race sounds like fun. Nice 18miler!
SRD for me. Heading over to a breakfast with Santa soon with the little guys. Maybe get a little core workout in later on...I don't know...I still have a lot of wrapping to do. It felt so good to run at a faster pace yesterday...easy running for weeks at a time is terrible. I'm still not 100% but getting really close. As long as I take it a little bit easy and don't do anything stupid I should be good. Will start up some Vo2max work this week...either the 1:30/1:30 fartleks or I may just do some lower volume 400's
PRs:----- 5k: 17:48 (2019) 5M: 29:36 (2020) HM: 1:24:37 (2017) Scheduled: ???
Good morning!
Jay - enjoy your day off and pre-Christmas activities!
They said there were a lot of black ice on the trail so my running partner and I decided not to risk it.
Ran 5.8M in my park instead, some spots were sketchy but not bad for an easy run at 9:10 pace My left ankle was bothering me since yesterday but it held up today, hopefully it goes away soon.
Former Bad Ass
Afternoon! Managed the 5 on the TM while my dad was here having drinks and cooking us dinner. Lifted as well. Ran 15 on the TM just now.
Quickadder, I would say the marathon but I am biased.
ViBe, nice run!
Jay, hope you enjoyed the breakfast.
Damaris
Damaris - don't know how you manage to run for that long on the TM, nice job!
Vibe- Good call on not racing today. Black ice is nothing to mess around with. Maybe next Saturday we can get a run in?
Damaris- 15 on the TM ...wow! You are much tougher than I am. I saw something that Coach Hudson posted on Instagram; these guys were doing a 100k TM ultra...That is insane.
That would be just my thing.
we hit 86F today. TM is better than that.
Don't know about Saturday Jay, they will have a race at Tyler (12k of Christmas) that day. Are you working on Friday (I'm off)? You can text me and we can figure something out.
A biased Docket?
Jay, I’ve run that particular trail HM the last two years and agree that trail races are fun.
Looking back on this year I’ve run 14 races of which 3 were trail races (HM, 10M & 7M), a full marathon, 2 road halves, two 10Ks, a 5M, a 4M and four 5Ks.
