Damaris - nice margarita! Definitely worth the effort
Quick - congrats on your first 50+ mile week!
DryHeat - great mileage, you are ready for the race!
Me- it warmed up a bit to 17F this morning, I did 4.8M easy at 9:24 pace.
Woke up at 4:15 ready to hit the road. Unfortunately I realized I can't walk a without limping. Decided not to run on the ankle. Has to have something to do with the TM or the sketchers...really starting to get down
PRs:----- 5k: 17:48 (2019) 5M: 29:36 (2020) HM: 1:24:37 (2017) Scheduled: ???
Jay - right call. I know it's hard but try to rest for 2 days (no runs, no workouts) and then see how you feel. You won't lose fitness because of this...
Former Bad Ass
Morning! Called in sick to work and slept until 9am. Might need ot nap more since I feel so tired still. RD. Got my miles for this week and at least I have ranges (low and high) of miles. I'll take it day by day.
ViBe, thanks! Nice run.
Jay, ugh. Sorry about the ankle.
Damaris
Morning Runners,
Thinking on 8/5, but butt/hip/hammy has been pretty sore over the weekend-always something, so will play it by ear if I do some pace or not. ...Got off for the race on the 27th! We are going to be doing the ARR Desert Classic 10k. Should be accurate since it is put on by an experienced racing club? Guess I'll know at the turn around.
Jay: Yeah, you never know what is doing it, rest up!
Dry: Nice week and 6:55 would be great! Weather looks perfect.
Damaris: Sounds like a bug since you had it before the Nunn. It's going around like crazy in AZ.
Vibe: Sounds tropical!
I got 8 with 11X400/1:30JR, 1:33ish-1:28ish. Ish, cause the Garmin showed 133, and I saw 128, even though they might of been closer to 134 and 129. My splits only show 10, but did the first one and hit the wrong button, so deleted entry, and did the same damn thing on my 4th one! Brain cell was working slower than usual. If I would of known I had 11, I would of done one more. Hammy/butt/hip was sore, but not too bad and it didn't get worse, so kept going.
Damaris- smart decision, a day of rest did not hurt anyone yet, hope you feel better already
OFR - nice workout, really fast intervals, nice job!
Thanks! I was able to eat lunch with my dad and now cooking dinner. Looks like what I had is out of my system. And from what I have heard, I wasn't the only one sick like this.
My pics are hilarious (and by that I mean hideous).
How I felt:
But finishing margarita in hand made me happy.
I got 5 more easy, ice bag in place.
Damaris: 2nd pic you look better. Glad you are feeling better.
OFR - nice 5, you are on a roll!
Damaris- yeah, one picture is worth a thousand words
You should've start with a margarita (or two) and that would be a better race
Nice to hear you are getting back to normal!
RD for me. Thought about doing some weights or spin but sleep seemed smarter.
Vibe - up to 17? Yikes.
Jay - hang in there. I hope rest helps.
DR - hope you feel better!
OFR - weather does seem good. I'm hoping to see a 1:30x but anything below 7 on pace and I'll be happy. Can't say I'm not hoping for an amazing day and surprise myself.
I am interested to see how your doubles work out long term.
Off to bed for ,7 with 4 zone 3 tomorrow. Longest run of the week until the race. Light taper into the race.
PRs: 5k: 20:02 (10-2016), 10k 41:45 (2-2018), HM 1:32:09 (11-2017), M 3:32:00 (2-2017)
Good Morning
Damaris- Glad you are feeling better
OFR- Very nice intervals!
Vibe- Hope the roads aren't too icy for you this morning.
A day of rest, NSAIDS, and Ice seemed to help my ankle a bit. Doing the same today. Hoping tomorrow I can run. Did get up early and got a decent core workout in.
8 on tap later. We actually have rain in the forecast starting around 5PM. Ken is probably already getting it. I better throw some fertilizer down around the plants.
Jay: Thanks, and around 1:30 is my limit now, and hoping the hip/hammy will adapt and cool down soon? Progressive stress... Hang in there, and hope it comes around.
Dry: Good luck and rest up! That's a downhill PR course isn't it?...Yeah, it will be interesting about the doubles and mileage increase? I seem to be losing more body fat (everywhere except my gut-where I need it) but my weight is not going down much really-which is good, cause I don't want to lose muscle mass like I have before when I cut weight with just diet and I get weak and can't run as fast. I can eat more and don't feel so deprived, which might be worth the price of admission if nothing else.
Morning! I am back in the land of the living at work. I have Pilates, weights, and 0-3 miles. As of now, I feel good enough to run, but we'll see tonight.
OFR, nice runs yesterday.
ViBe, unfortunately, the race starts at Epcot but not on the World Showcase!
DryAZ, hoping your run went well.
Jay, hope the meds help the ankle.
