Mike - Nice job squeezing the run in.

Quick - Congrats on the high mileage month.

6 miles with Mike this morning in 30º but no real wind.  Quite refreshing.

Looks like Fred beat me to creating a new monthly thread!

      Can't believe it's December already...

Damaris  - how's your leg after all those PT sessions?

Fred - Nice run yesterday and 6 miles this morning. 120 miles in a month doesn't sound like you , I'm sure you'll start picking it up again soon.

Mike - yes, sometimes life makes it harder for us to run, but it is what it is. Nice run and great mileage in November!

Quick - that's a really impressive mileage (who came up with the idea of looking for prime numbers?!)  So, are you going to shoot for 163 miles in December ?

I ran 3.5M easy, left leg tendons are not happy at the moment.

The prime numbers thing seems to predate my joining the running forums. Had it not been for my blister I would probably have tried for 163 for November and the next prime up after that (167) is my all-time best monthly mileage.

I suspect my December mileage will reflect whether The Gogos is in the running game final or not. In any event next week is a bye week, so I don't see me even matching the November total - perhaps around 140 if we are in the final, 100 if not.

        Started running at age 60.

Morning! Leg was fine...until I sat for 5 minutes on my chair in the office. Now working standing up but FFS. This might be why my leg never gets better, for the 3 days here.

3 after work. Leaving early which will help.

Quick - 140 in December would still be a nice total!  Way to stay consistent.

Fred - Nice 6 this morning.  Enjoying these 30F temps, I can't imagine running mid-Summer!

Vitaly - Nice 3.5 this morning. I hope the tendons loosen up.

Damaris - Enjoy the 3 later.

I'm loosely following the training schedule this week and taking another RD today.  Especially since Sunday is long for me.  Can't believe it's December!

Taped my blistered toe, put on old comfortable shoes and ran 6 miles on the TM. Got to green for the week plus 5. I have a feeling this could be the week our team loses, but I'm not giving up yet ....

If you have solid scouting information about this, there are members of our team who'd be happy not to run in the rain this weekend.

Unfortunately, nothing solid. My thought process goes something like this.

                  Opponents ran 127% week 1 and 114% week 2.

Week 3 is a must-win for both teams, whereas weeks 1 & 2 were only must-win for us.

Therefore I expect opponents to run their best week.

One of their captains is Krash, who is capable of running 100+ miles on a whim.

Their team member Tammy reports in the Masters Forum and seems to be running her usual mileage this week.

Based on all that I'd guess our chances of winning with

                  110% as <5%,

                  120%, 15-20%

                  130%, 40-50%

                  140%, 60-70%

                  150%, 90%

Damaris - maybe they'll come up with the desks where one can lie down on a stomach, now that would help. Sitting aggravates my hamstring for sure. Hope your 3M run went well

Mike - RDs are good, your body recovers and absorbs all the training stimuli you exposed it to during running days (says the man who doesn't take RDs LOL)

Quick / Fred - rain or not, people have to run, one never knows when the extra mileage might come handy.

                      8 hilly miles for me this morning; I basically made it a dress rehearsal before the upcoming 5K race (the most brutal 5K race in the area, 400 ft of elevation gain!);

After the warm up I ran first 1.68M of the race course (236 ft of climb) in 11:09 (6:38 pace), pretty much what I need to run on the race day to get a sub-20. The course is super tough though, my legs were jello after that stretch... Well, at least I got a preview of the torture coming next week LOL

                      Former Bad Ass

Afternoon! I was bound to have a bad race after running many. Gluhwein Gallop 5K today. Plan was to run not race it. Even that was hard. Half the route was bricks and my asthma got worse as the race went on. Finished in 38:12 so not bad; that would've been impossible even racing all out last year so I take it as a win. You can see how much effort I went through to breathe because my face is red.

Vitaly - Nice run this morning.  Some of the guys were talking about the Covered Bridge course last week.  Jim L. seemed to think we could add :30 to our usual mile pace on that course.  I believe it!  I'm not looking forward to it!

I ran an easy 2.6 this morning with strides.

I ran 7 today, going around parts of town I haven't run through in a while (the southern part of town is flatter, but it's at a lower elevation than where I live, so it's easier running but always uphill to get home).  That's the longest I've run since the marathon; I'm starting to manage longer runs better.  Tomorrow may be an afternoon run as the rain could be quite heavy in the morning.
