Quick - time with the family is very important, nice job on being able to run and keep the streak going!

I did a pull-up workout and then ran 4 easy miles at 9:00 pace.

      Vitaly, nice run.

I have an active RD. Maybe a bike ride and PT exercises or weights.

The grandsons have gone home. I did 4.5miles on the TM after they left. 32.7 for the week.

I have a blister on my right second toe - sort of underneath the front of the toe next to the middle toe, but down in the fleshy part. Makes it uncomfortable to run (or walk). Trying to decide if it is possible to tape it in some fashion - I can't see tape staying on once I've been running a while.

          Started running at age 60.

Fred - Way to get through the 9 tough miles.

            Vitaly - Nice run.

Quick - Nice work on the TM.

I ran 8.4 in hilly Tyler this morning.  Happy Holidays everyone.  More than likely a RD tomorrow.

              Happy Holidays to all.

Mike - Good job on the Tyler run yesterday.

Quick - I hope you figure out how to cope with that blister.

Damaris - I trust the exercises went well yesterday.

Vitaly - Nice easy run yesterday.

Consensus among the runners in my family is I likely overextended my stride one or more times on the dirt surface at ParkRun and then exacerbated it during my longer run yesterday (not much you can do when your leg starts aching while you're 5 miles into a 9-mile out and back and it's 42º outside).  I've been told I most likely have a high adductor strain (right up by the bone).  All I know is last night and today I get occasional pain just from getting up and walking around the house, so I'll likely have a couple of rest days and definitely no speed work tomorrow.  I just hope it's better in time for the New Year's Day 5k.

              5k 23:48.45 (3/22); 4M 31:26 (2/22); 5M 38:55 (11/23); 10k 49:24 (10/22);

                Merry Christmas 🎄

Damaris - hope you enjoyed your active day off and were able to run a bit today

Quick - nice run, hopefully the blister heals quickly

Mike - good job on your Tyler run!

Fred - ugh on the adductor, but a couple of rest days should help, plenty of time till the race day!

I ran 8.1 miles including 6x1km at a comfortably fast effort (7:00-7:10 target pace); averaged 7:02 for the intervals…

8.2 TM miles for me today, despite the sore toe. Looks as though I may need to pick up a few extra miles this week (assuming we survived last week).

Mike - track workout? Nice job!

I ran 4.5 this morning with almost 3 x 1000m intervals @ 6:43 pace on the track.  I cut the last one short... again.  I once again was supposed to do 4-5 intervals, but wasn't feeling it.  It's been a while since I did track work and I was gassed aerobically!

Morning! Only person working today so I had to come to the office. Every sound here is freaking me out, ha. Fortunately, I can tell if someone is here because the hallway lights turn off after I've been sitting for 5 minutes.

I have 3 after work and the PT exercises.

                            Damaris - Don't get too spooked.  :-)

Mike - Nice track work and smart to listed to your body and not push to the risk of injury.  Keep it up.  You'll get there.

Vitaly - Good job on the easy run.

Quick - Glad the toe didn't hold you back.

I ran 4½ easy with Mike today.  I'm really glad he offered to do an easy run with me instead of our track work - it got me out there.  I wasn't pushing anything, but the good news is there was almost no pain.  I'll try another easy run tomorrow and see what happens.

Mike - what’s funny about these workouts is how hard the intervals feel; yet somehow on the race day we are able to run 5x1km @5k effort without rest 😂. Your body is still not 100 percent after the Covid, but it’s recovering with every passing day.

Damaris - it’s not a bad thing to (almost) have the office at your own disposal. Enjoy your run!

Fred - great news on decreased pain, nice run!

Looks like 4.5 miles was the order of the day. As usual, I didn't get the memo, so ended up with 5.8 miles towards a final big week.

I thought it was about time I started checking to see if there is a chance of finishing the month and/or year on a prime number. I'm currently at 121.1 for the month and 1092.6 for the year so there appear TWO possible double prime solutions.

                                1. Another 30 miles or just over. This would give me 151 (rounded down) for the month and 1123 (rounded up) for the year.

                                2. Another 36 miles or just over. 157 for the month and 1129 for the year.

That means I need to end this week with either 44 or 50 miles, for my highest week of the year.

                                Started running at age 60.
