Afternoon! I have 3 after work.

    mjhaston, nice 9.

Vitaly, nice run. I don't know if I want to run the race tomorrow. Still rain and wind but also I'm exhausted.

Mike - great job on your long-ish run!

Damaris - not a great combination, maybe things will look brighter tomorrow morning Smile

Mike - Good job on the 9-miler this morning.

        Vitaly - Nice box-checking.  :-)

I was finally able to uncork a long run today at somewhat more than easy effort.  10 miles done and the legs a little tired.

Just doing slightly more than the minimum to keep my streak going this week. Tonight's 2.5 miles takes me over 1000 for the year.

Hoping to step up the mileage a notch or two next week for the first week of the final.

          Started running at age 60.

Mike, Vitaly - If your weather is anything like mine, you'll have even more incentive to run fast tomorrow (to get out of the rain).  Good luck.

A slow 3½ miles for me this morning.  Just not feeling it.  Rehearsal coming up then off to my parents' house to rake leaves.

            Former Bad Ass

Morning! I skipped my rain due to thunderstorms so I slept in. I woke up at 10am and it's sunny, WTF. Thunder now in an hour instead of the morning. Just my luck. Having said that, I slept on and off for 11 hours so I think it was best for me to stay in bed and rest.

              I have 5 later.

Quick, nice job. Good luck with the finals!

              Fred, nice 10 and 3.

Damaris - your body needed that 11 hour sleep, all is good!

Fred - great job on your long run yesterday and easy/short run today!

Thank you! Yeah, the incentive to run fast tomorrow will be there for sure

Quick - good job on reaching 1K miles for the year!

I ran 2.4M with strides and 0.25M @5K effort (pace wise it was like 10K, but the legs are tired after all those PT exercises)

Hopefully the real rain will wait until 10am tomorrow LOL

Decided to try a 5K Time Trial today. 2 months since my last one and I've been running lots of miles since due to the QF & SF weeks of the RA running game. A semi-taper this week with just over 2 miles each day during the week and chance to do a fast run before the final starts. Back in October I ran 27:27. I set the TM to 7.0mph and managed to keep that speed for the whole distance though I was sorely tempted to slow down in the last mile. I hit 5K at 26:44 - an improvement of 43 seconds!

My highest ever AG percentage at 64.5. Also finally achieved my target of an age-adjusted time of under 20 minutes (19:55).

                    Started running at age 60.

                      Quick - That's awesome.  That's a huge improvement and great age-adjusted time.

Gene Dykes didn't manage to get the record today. Looks as though he was on pace for the record until just before halfway, going through the HM checkpoint at 1:32:55 but already beginning to slow. Final time was 3:25:51 so about a 20 minute positive split.

Damaris - I hope the 5 went well and the PT has paid off.

Vitaly - Nice job on the short run, even if the ¼ mile wasn't what you were shooting for.

Mike - Good job on the canal run.

Quick - Congrats on the time trial.

Mike, Vitaly - So far the rain has held off here.  I hope it's doing the same for you.  Good luck to both of you.

Mike and I met up for 7 with 4 at HM pace.  We set a target of 8:40 for the HM miles.  I'd been wondering for months how my HM pace would be after months of marathon training and it turned out I need not have worried.  We wound up averaging 8:35.  In the past, during HM training, I've tried to run no slower than 9:00 on the main hill climb of the route.  I had not been able to do that during marathon training, but I succeeded today.  I'm still buzzing from the run.  This is why I like half marathons so much - the training can be really fun and rewarding on its own; something I don't get as much from marathon training.

ETA:  With today's run, I exceeded 2,000 miles for the year.

Morning! I have 3. Super windy here so I might hop on the TM; we'll see. And will do some back stretches as my back is sore/tight today.

                              Fred, nice run and pace!

Sorry to hear about Gene Dykes, but he gave it a try. Maybe the weather was not good that day?

Damaris - hope your 3M run went well!
