We need to name a team captain. Preferably a backup/co-captain as well.
We need a team name.
Any thoughts or suggestions for either are welcome.

What does a captain do? In general, the captain serves as the contact person for his or her team. So it there are questions to/from the organizers or announcements to make, we know to contact the captains who can then get the info out to others. The captains make final decisions if there's a judgement call. For the most part, teams should be communicating with each other and discussing things, but it's nice if there's somebody who can put it all together and say "OK, this is what we're doing." The captain works to motivate the team, keeps and eye on the schedule, and lets people know what's coming up. The captain contacts people who are still showing 0 miles for the week (and aren't injured/out of town) in their logs and reminds them to update (this should be a lot easier this year, because people who keep their logs updated as they run will be in automatically, and on your team tabs you'll be able to see everybody's mileage (from your team), so you won't need to hunt through posting threads to see who is missing). The captain listens to team members and makes decisions based on what the best interests of the whole group are. The captain does NOT need to be a great runner, super fast, etc. It's just somebody who likes to do the people side of things, and who is generally reliable as far as replying to PMs, etc. MTA: Often teams pick two co-captains who work together.

I don't mind being captain. It helps to have someone who's been in the game and is familiar with it.
I do kind of like the Hobby Jogger Inc name.
