    Hey Everyone,

    I have my first marathon coming up in October in Atlantic City, NJ.  I have ran three half marathons.  During my training, I want to start incorporating race day nutrition into my longer runs (not running on an empty stomach, etc.).  In past half marathons, I feel that I have misused gel packs and they have been more of a detriment to my endurance.  My plan is to start with one 45 minutes in and then repeating every 45 minutes.  What are some brands that are people have used.  Sometimes I feel like they sit at the bottom of my stomach.  Does anyone have recommendations on the use of them or products that have been helpful?

      I've used GU gels.  Note that they recommend taking the first one 5 minutes before the start and keeping up a regimen of every 45 minutes.  I've been pretty successful with that, though in one marathon (I've only done three), my stomach started to ache a bit near the end.  Not sure if it was the gels or just fatigue.
