NYC Marathon runners

    any brooklynites know if the s53 bus from 86th street @ 4th, bay ridge is allowed to go over the verazzano? i really don't want to get up at 3:30 to get from brooklyn to my bus, which leaves manhattan at 5. thanks!

      I am a Brooklynite, but I've never run the marathon so I don't know how reliable that bus would be on marathon day. The marathon website says it's an option, but that the bridge closes at 7am. Most of the people in my running club (all of whom live in Brooklyn) travel via the ferry. It might be worth checking the NY Marathon forum on RunnersWorld since there seems to be a million posts about how to get there http://forums.runnersworld.com/eve/forums/a/frm/f/973106038
