Mystery injury needs diagnosis (Read 66 times)

Hello. My name is Haley and I am forever on the injured list...might you help me deduce what, exactly, I've done? Not more than two weeks ago, I began experiencing a stabbing pain just below and to the anterior of my left knee. It's that soft tissue spot just below the knee cap and above the tibia? bone. Initially, the onset was towards the end of my runs, painful, but subsided when I stopped running. Soon after, the stabbing pain would come quicker sometimes at the very beginning of my runs, taper, then come back so bad that even walking was pure torture. At this point I am down for the count... Suggestions?

Sounds a whole lot like patellafemoral syndrome (Runners Knee).

Instead of me describing it, here is a couple of links.  You can read it and see if it matches with your injury:

        Haley,

Have you tried massaging your quads with the hard roller or tried to identify tender parts in your quads?  Sometimes it can be a knotted up quad that leads to all sorts of knee pains.

I hope that it gets better bc I hate to see u in there having to hoof it in the water!!!
