Thanks for the comments, fellas. So, it sounds like a) intervals are being run a bit too slow; and, b) tempo a bit too fast. As for the 20 mi. run, Tom, it sort of sucked. I think I need to run a few long runs as progressions to 'fix the fade'. The heat and humidity lately has been killer.

As we approach Sept, I've come to realize that my target marathon is less than 8 weeks away. Looking for some recommendations/thoughts on appropriate speedwork and how best to incorporate this into my training. The plan I am following (a modified version of Pfitz's 18/55) calls for striders (e.g. 6 mi w/6x100m), intervals (e.g. 9 mi w/ 5x1000m) and tempo runs (e.g. 17 mi w/14 mi at MP). On Mon (Sept 1) I am running a HM as a tune-up. If you are familiar with the plan, you get the idea. Anything I should consider adding to this?

: Mon 8 mi w/8x100m Tue 10 mi Wed 5 mi Thu 10 mi w/6 mi @ MP Fri 5 mi Sat 1 hr of easy running Sun 5 mi or rest Mon Race (HM)
