Congratulations GoGos!! We have really turned in a huge team effort these first two rounds.
I'm really curious on how the ties work.
1600 - 5:23 (2018), 5k - 19:33 (2018), 10k - 41:20 (2021), half - 1:38:57 (2018), Marathon - 3:37:17 (2018)
Zebano - our working theory is the tiebreak went off regular season points. IDK personally I think that seems like a fair approach, but of course I would say that because I'm on Pace Oddities.
That HM race of mine has it's own little story. One of my all time favourite events (Omaha Beach Half Marathon), it's a very fun and picturesque course and actually made it on to Runners World's Bucket List Half Marathons (not bad for a 2,500 capacity event in the most remote developed country in the world). Anyways, last time I ran it, I was with another runner the entire way and managed to take out first overall in a sprint finish. This time, I was with a pack of 4 runners around the 7-8km mark, with first place a little further ahead, and I thought to myself "it would be funny if this came down to a sprint finish again".
It did.
I managed to win the battle and take out second place but boy, that's a tough way to finish a HM! Do not recommend!

My working theory on tiebreakers is head to head competition, but of course I would say that because I'm on Fourgetaboutit and we were 6-3 against y'all this year. Clearly that wasn't the factor.
Congrats on the HM. That sounds epic.
I write. I read. I run. One time, I ran a lot on my 50th birthday.

FredFord in our forums posted this a few days ago. I've no idea if it's correct but it isn't immediately disproved by the results last week:
"I asked a year or two ago and was told the system adjudicates ties based on which team had the highest total mileage in absolute terms (not relative to goals or anything else). So, there is a benefit to having the larger number of people running."
I found in the 2021 scoring thread that ties for the now extinct wild card round were based on most points head to head.
I wonder if Fred asked on the forum? I remember it being asked and answered, but also that it had never happened. And the total miles does ring a bell.

Credit to Give Em Gel for getting to 144.65% of goal - that's a very solid effort. I'm told The Gogos won by 7 miles.
