Since we have been evaluating our 2013 goals, I figured it was time to start our 2014 thread. Here we go:
1) Take a break from long running & races (at least for Jan-June)
2) Run more short trail races
3) Run some short road races
4) PR in the 10K and 13.1
5) Get back in the gym consistently and get strong
5) Have fun!

Occasional Runner
I suppose it's time to start thinking about these things.
1) Run a minimum of 4000 miles
2) Set at least 3 FKT's
3) Run 200 miles in one continuous push
4) Go sub 23 at Leadville
5) Win an ultra
Seems easy enough.
Refurbished Hip
I am going to quote myself from 2012 and hope that I achieve this in 2014:
To run pain free. That's it.
To run pain free.
That's it.
Running is dumb.

5. 7 Hours/week of exercise
6. 1500 miles of running

10. Complete the local 1/2 Ironman in the town I grew up
Some of these I care about more than others...some of these need to be confessed as sins.
**Ask me about streaking**
Main goals: (i) be faster and stronger than 2013; (ii) no long breaks (I was pretty good in 2013 on this score). I'm going to focus on some trail races in the 10k - 10mi range (maybe a 13.1) throughout the year and see how well I can do.

If you're thinkin about a race in Northern AZ, you'd be more than welcome to stay at our cabin in Flagstaff for a night or two. We've got a spare room and singletrack two blocks away.

I like number 7.
My favorite day of the week is RUNday
#7 sounds like a GI disease :-)
Are we there, yet?
1) Run my first trail ultra at Ice Age 50K
2) Run my first 24-hour run at NC 24
3) run sub-2:15 for a HM
4) run sub-5:00 for a marathon
2024 Races:

05/11 - D3 50K 05/25 - What the Duck 12-Hour
06/17 - 6 Days in the Dome 12-Hour.
I expanded to include some cycling goals as well ....
1. Run 3 100-milers (can substitute one race in Europe such as Lavaredo Ultra Trail if no WS or UTMB); break 24 hours at one race
2. Break 13.5 hours at Devil Mountain Double or 12.5 hours at Terrible Two double centuries (biking)
3. Run a few faster 50-milers or 50ks
4. Run 2000 miles/300,000 vertical; bike 4000 miles/400,000 vertical -- probably need a bike trip to do that .... hmmmm
5. Going into 2015 looking to do more!
What's your schedule look like
I hope not
