    Yup- my Friday

got a letter yesterday that I have to keep with me, stating I’m “essential” and no travel restrictions apply to me; wonder if I can use it to get to the front of the line at the grocery store?  “excuse me ma’am, it’s a matter of national security” Smile

4 miles on slushy trails yesterday with Tiny Elvis yesterday, supposed to get snow today so might soak up the slush; will get in a few miles after work

qotd: restrictions in your area? here all schools closed, theaters, gyms, bars, restaurants (except drive up)—streets are pretty bare of traffic

Hmm, finally admitted to myself that I'm coming down with a bug. All I can guess at this point is that it is upper respiratory and mild. Maybe a cold, maybe something else. Nothing worth getting tested for ( and they won't give them out considering my low level risk here). DS2 has been mildly sick since last week so whatever it is, it's gonna make it's rounds in our household and we need to stay away from others (which we have been).  So, running wise, I'm on hold for a bit.

glad DH stopped and got bananas last night. We should be good on those for a couple of days.  Damn, I wish they lasted longer.

qotd: Pretty much everything except non-essential businesses, which included the liquor stores, hardware stores and 7-11s. But things are really quiet on the streets (based on yesterday and this morning's dog walk)

Short road run near my house today. Legs were a bit sore from the big climbs we had yesterday.

We into office and saw 2 emergency patients who could not have been kinder. One patient brought a 4 pack of TP as a thank you. I told him we were fine and he could keep it or sell on the black market. It was pretty funny.

Sandy - what's up with your Lt. Gov.  Guess he's one of those science deniers.

Very sad when POTUS and others feel they can misquote science and use to steer the stock markets. Dr. Fauci at the NIH is regarded very highly and Trump keeps pushing him into a corner. Politics didn't use to play a role in the NIH, and never should.

QOTD:  School closing extended another 2 weeks (for now, probably all school year), only essential services are open. Liquor Stores in PA are state run, so they are closed. Beer stores are open.

My idiot cousin's son went to Daytona on Spring Break from U of Alabama.  He told his parents he was sheltering in place in his Alabama apartment. He was with some people who have tested positive so had to come clean because he came home when school got switched to online. My 78 yo Aunt lives with them and now she has to stay in her room in the basement.  My cousin is ready to kill him. Parenting can be so fun.

Dog wog this morning as usual. Seeing more "regulars" out in the morning now. Decided to road run at lunch. Thought about going solo today but hard to leave an antsy dog at home. So I took Baker along. Ok run, lots of stops and starts but not as bad as when I take both. 5 miles. Will do a few more later with both dogs.

QOTD: Same as AT here. Schools closed here on the 13th, all other stuff shortly thereafter. Glad I like beer and not booze since state stores are closed.

AT - Your cousin's son... what a big dummy.

Runtrail - Sorry about the crud. Feel better soon.

In dog beers, I've only had one.

               Nice!

Ran 6.5 miles on the road here. Very quiet, only saw a couple cars. Also saw deer tracks on my drive leaving a blood trail. Very odd. Maybe we have a nearby poacher who's not a good shot. Otherwise the temp is 43F and the sap is dripping. What possibly could be wrong in this world.

Yeah Sandy, what's wrong with your guy? And while I'm at it, dhuff-your Gov sounds like a real genius too. Of course we have a Senator who's using the same playbook. And who can forget Rand Paul?  If these are our leaders we have no chance.

              AT- Wow. Real classy kid.

XT--I hoarded both beer and bourbon so I'm ready.

QOTD--I guess we have travel restrictions and essential work only now but I'm too lazy to look up the official instructions. Perhaps Mandy knows more.

Doesn't help we have the jackass in charge and our stupid ass governor is republican and a JIC ally.  I can't wait to vote for anyone else.  Even though I work for a tribe we pretty much follow the feds/states recommendations although we were behind in some aspects.  It's hurting them to keep the casinos closed but they seem more willing to put people first.

No run yet.  Been on the phone in mtgs most of the day as I am stuck at home.  I won't complain though because I still have my job and am being paid.  DW is not working.  She has been feverously cleaning our house because she doesn't know what else to do.  Weird times to say the least.  I will run later.

QOTD: Yes, lots.  But also a lot of confusion around what the restrictions actually are.  A local state trooper has been trying to post some updates on the actual restrictions to our local Next Door forum site and people are crazy with their responses.  That is the real reason why I Social Distance - during this pandemic and all the time.

                    Have a great day!

                    Are we there, yet?

Absolutely beautiful day, sunny, mid-50s.  Ran 6.4 miles finishing with some strides.

qotd: Shelter at home orders in my county; schools and non-essential businesses closed, pretty much what the other areas under restrictions have

I'm just about to head out for a short run.  It'll be slow since its about 85 deg here.

AT and NH: Yeah, what can I say there are a lot of lunatics here in the lone star state so it figures that they'd also elect a few of them. Good thing the sunshine state has even more lunatics or we'd be at the very bottom in that department.  As someone living in Texas I don't mind sacrificing him for the economy.

qotd: At 11:59pm tonight we will be officially on a "stay-home-work-safe" order, which is like the other large city pause, shelter in place, lock-down, etc. It's like Mandy said... don't go anywhere.  We're allowed to go to work if essential, grocery shopping and get food/medicine.  No gatherings of any number (except people who live together). We're allowed to go out to walk or run and parks are open, but everyone has to social distance (six feet apart). Restaurants are open but take-out only.  Basically we're doing the same thing now, but the  "stay-home-work-safe" order ramps it up a bit and gives authorities more clout for enforcement.

mt: I also have an Essential Business letter since we are vital for marine transportation.

I had a really nice run bvv tonight. More run bvv than hike...it was slow but it was a real run. The first in a long long time. I do have a giant blister on my toe...how the hell? I dont even wear shoes!

Rest of the day was spent trying to get my home office set up, going back to the office to download software I did not know I needed. Many frenetic calls to the Help Desk. Love them all...they are so nice and helpful.

Qotd. We are to stay at home, everything closed except essential businesses.  Driving through time on the way home from my run this evening feels surreal. Very little traffic, gray skies, sur ru sounded by leafless, winter bones. Feels dystopian.
