running under the BigSky
there should be a pretty wide array of lodging for those that don't want to camp, but would obviously still able to hang about the campfire.
I should be able to provide all cooking related gear i.e. pots, pans, utensils, multi-burner propane stove, etc.
I might be able to wrangle up a large pyramid or wall tent, if that would help- no snorers allowed!
I'm pretty sure folks could carpool some as well. Great Falls isn't much out of the way, so I could pick up a couple of folks too.
DD- when we do our longer route, your wife might want to do part of the route, there is also a boat tour, pretty decent gift/mercantile shop, lots of beach front, etc. there would also be a vehicle free if she wanted to do some sight seeing in another area????
we did the loop in 5.5 hours, but was a little faster than I would like, closer to 6.5 would be better- giving us a little more time for pics, sit down lunch, etc

You all don't have to much fun now, August is the fun month challenge! I'll wave as I fly over while I am up in the area flying sandhill crane surveys.

OK, DW really thinks this is a good idea. I'd love to make this happen. She had such a good time in Utah that now we're looking for our next adventure.
“Paralysis-to-50k” training plan is underway!
sounds good
I've found about half dozen nice possible shorter routes (8-12 miles) for a day two outing
I know the sooner folks can make plans the better, lets shoot for September 16-17 for our two days of running/hiking
the park will have died down significantly by then, but weather is generally very nice mid September
lodging- Glacier Park Lodge is really nice- it's on the spendy side ($200-250) a night, but has a restaurant and bar- very close to our jumping off point for our runs.
camping is an option, but obviously complicates things as far as bringing gear, cooking, showers, etc etc
not sure if anyone would be interested, but the Amtrak train literally goes right by the lodge (with a stop!)- if you have time a fun way to travel

Those two dates will work for us at this time. I'll probably wait a couple of weeks then start making plans for this.
good deal! this is a gorgeous area to run/hike and just hang out; would be fun if we could get a bunch of us together
