Grand Circle Trailfest
Kelly had this on FB, and Sue commented on it yesterday, but this looks like a blast.
I showed it to DW and she said "we should go".
Anyone else interested in this? I've only been to Salt Lake City area of Utah, and this looks like a great way to experience Bryce, Zion and the North side of the GC.
Thought I'd start a separate thread to see who might want an adventure.
“Paralysis-to-50k” training plan is underway!
Are we there, yet?
I wish this had come up earlier in the year. I'm already committed to the Mount Desert Island Marathon on 10/16.
2024 Races:

I've decided I am going...going to clear it with the old man when he gets home, and then pay for it.
05/13/23 Traverse City Trail Festival 25K
08/19/23 Marquette 50 dns 🙄
I wish I could go this year but I already got all my days off planned. Then again I might have a few beers tonight,
It is Friday!!! there's still hope...what about your sick days?
oOoooOo coolI'll hear back tomorrow if I get in to the Cuyumaca 100k for Oct 1 st. If I don't get in I might sign up for the GrandCanyon package thing.

I'm interested, but unsure if I can make it- have travel plans in September, which might quash any other travel this fall. I do recognize a photo of a local runner and sent an email to get his opinion. I do like the idea of hitting Bryce, Zion and the Grand Canyon all in one fell swoop.

A couple of things about this...
1. This is the first year, so you won't get any real intel on the event. I did the beta for this race 2 years ago, so I can probably answer most your questions.
2. Don't register until you get a discount code from me.
Carry on!

Thanks, stranger.
I'll let you know where we're planning on flying in. It might be SLC so we can see our great grandniece again, but we've never been to Vegas, so still undecided.
Congratulation on your last win and course record.
Thanks...I am cheap and will wait for this code.

This sounds really cool - I've been meaning to plan another canyon-running trip since doing R2R2R in '14.
Kelly - there's not much climbing in any of these runs and it seems like they stick to rim running. Do you think you'd get a good feel for the canyons? I guess I'm asking, how do these routes compare with the routes you might pick if you had your choice as to how to best experience each park?
None of these routes will be inside the parks because you'd never get a permit for it. I do think they give a great perspective of what's IN the park though. For instance, when I go to Zion, I always spend time outside the park because it's just as good as inside the park if you know where to go. Plus, it's never crowded. Also, the runs each day are short enough to leave time for exploring on your own if you want.
AT glad to hear you are 99% ...I'm 85% no..90%.. Have old man approval so..well at 95% just want to figured out how to get there as chraply as possible... Like get someone local to come with me.
talked to my buddy who's picture was on the site; lace is correct this is the first year of the event- the picture was from a previous event by the same group (and believe same RD- Matt Gunn???).
he's done three events with this outfit and thought things were pretty basic, but friendly and well organized- he's run the Zion 100, Grand Canyon 100 and Monument Valley 100- said the scenery for all were outstanding
