Keep Going
Anyone out there do this on Saturday? I did the 50K++ and it was amazingly beautiful but mean and nasty at the same time. Took me 10 hours to go 33.5 miles..hahaha. I did not have a good race, bonked, massively overheated, got lost a few times, and just floundered the whole time it seemed. But a finish is a finish. Would love to hear how the back of the course was for the 100K folks.
100 milers are my favorite
Are we there, yet?
I hope it was cooler and more shady than the track was on Saturday.
2024 Races:
03/09 - Livingston Oval Ultra 6-Hour, 22.88 miles
05/11 - D3 50K 05/25 - What the Duck 12-Hour
06/17 - 6 Days in the Dome 12-Hour.
ummmm no!! haha It was stifling in the woods but shaded yes. How did it go George? Were you at Dawn to Dusk to Dawn?
Tim
Weather must have been pretty brutal for the race. It was stinking hot and humid in South Central PA on Saturday.
A finish is a finish, you are 100% correct. Congratulations.
“Paralysis-to-50k” training plan is underway!

I looked up the results. It only has 16 finishers for the 100k. Is that right?????
And 58 for the 50k???
And the fastest time for the 50k was over 6 hours. That sounds like a tough course.
Congrats on the finish btw!
My favorite day of the week is RUNday
Yes, hot and sunny. Two runners taken to the hospital for heat issues. My RR in Beginners and Beyond Group. I assume you can read it even if you aren't a member of the group.

Yes only 16 finished. I could not imagine the suffering on the back half of those mountains for those people. The 100K was around 64+ miles.
The winner of the 50K here won Hyner in 4:49 and won this in 6:11...haha insane...
Thank you I feel privileged just to have made the cutoff. The most beautiful course I have ever been on hands down.

Tim thank you..I never sweated so much in my life. I was so wet I couldn't even do the "hands on knees" way of climbing. I kept slipping off my legs it was disgusting..but it is a must do event because the eye candy in that forest there was insane! Waterfalls everywhere, swimming holes, valley's of wild ferns as tall as me! One of those races where you can't wait to go back.
Sounds like a rough one but congrats on the finish. I ran the first 20+ miles or so of that course a few years back but in the opposite direction of your race. I remember we ran out of water with a long ways to go but coming back into World's End we rehydrated at the park office then took a plunge in the swimming hole and then ran back to the campground. I'll have to check the results as I knew a few runners in this one.
In dog beers, I've only had one.
Wow! Yes I will check out your report. I know Joshua Finger ran like 142 miles there on Sat.! In that heat on a track is insane. Congrats on getting in 50km!!
Faster Than Your Couch!
Congratulations! A finish is a finish. The trails look great to me, very similar to MMT.
Run for fun.
Thanks so much Couch!

Thank you XT! Sadly I didn't go into those swimming holes. I was afraid if I did I would have just quit, which I couldn't live with. Plus I didn't have any change of clothes. Poor planning on my part I know..

These numbers are amazing!! I didn't realize Keith Straw was there. He is such a good guy and a wicked beast of a runner.
