I was volunteering at race #2 of the Dextro ITU World Championship series.  The pros of this race were all in the Bejing olympics. I did everything from hauling ice and bagels to removing timing chips and then at the end I scored a job of escorting the winner for an hour from the finish, to the awards and then to Drug Testing.  The winner Alistar Brownlee, age 21 from Great Britan also won two weeks ago so his prize money so far is a nice cool 300K.  Alistar is a very nice young man who seemed very appreciative of his fans.  As a matter of fact all the pro/elites were some of the most pleasant athletes I've had the privilege to meet.  DW, who was on of the referees today, got some great pictures of mee hanging in the background with the winner that I'll psot a little later.

Was that the race in Washington this morning? With some 3000 people?

Hey, did they allow drafting for everyone in the sprint -- I've heard that ITU allows drafting.

It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.

Yes this was the race in DC.  There was no drafting in either the AG sprint or Oly race, the Pros were the only draft legal racers.

I still haven't downloaded the pics yet I hope to do that htis evening and I'll share Smile
