My salty dogs
I ignored the air quality warnings and ran in 90 degrees and 90% humidly for 9 miles my 3rd day here- thinking "anyone can do it in ideal conditions". Ends up it was their worst week for allergies in a while and a lot of people were sick. The stress from traveling and everything added to to poor air and I was sick for 5 days.
I will heed the warnings next time and avoid evening runs when things are bad. Hopefully I don't get into the cycle of being sick every other week like in Phoenix.
I plan to see a specialist soon to get a jump on things. For now I'm going to keep my runs shorter and the pace easy.
I need to loose the extra 10 pounds I put on so i might look for some indoor cross training.
Cheers.
Whats going on-- ya'all tapering or something. Was yesterday the big bash and "all ya'll" taking time off?
I run vicariously through "all ya'll" so I hope to see some good results next weekend.
Heh yep yesterday was the big bash, and I'm doing my "morning" run at about 2 p.m. today. Didn't drink much, though, just feeling lazy this morning. How are the allergies doing? And did you go run w/ the giant group yet?
A list of my PRs in a misguided attempt to impress people that do not care.
mcphee needs to get on here.
In order to see the truth, sometimes you have to loose an eye.

Yankees lose! Yankees lose!!!
80 today, 85 on Thursday and leave Friday. Pool is 75 and sparkling clean.
I still have some snow in my yard and lots of little pools of less than sparkling clean water.
Howdy Ya'all,
FYI-- In a couple weeks I'll be in Maine for a few hours and plan to do a track workout at 8am -- Saturday July 1st!!
Sanford or Noble depending on the RSVP's I get.
Also -- I'll be there for the Tuesday run on July 26th. It would be great to get some pizza and beer somewhere afterwards.
I could even plan to have people over my parents house if there is any interest.
Keep out of the sun (oh wait- that's me), I mean -- stay dry!!
Salty
Dave, so far I don't have plans for the 4th weekend, but that doesn't mean that won't change. But if I'm around I'd come join you at either place. I'll let you know before.
Hey Salty - Just curious, how far out did you ever go on the powerlines. We went out 5.6 yesterday and it got a little brutal, more rocky and more water issues.
Sounds about as far as I've gone. I remember having to go off the lines to the right at one point then back on.
How about a run on the lines Monday morning -- August 29th? I'll be at the Tuesday night run the next day too.
I've extended my trip taking Paisley to Vermont a few extra days in order to do some work on the house.
I personally can't make the Monday morning, I'll be in Portsmouth that morning. I could potentially make a 1:00 or so run though.
There were a few times we had to go off trail, and one path that already existed (likely to avoid something) that went into the woods and back out. I was just curious how far you had gone. I'll look forward to seeing you the end of August.
Hey, guys, the power lines on Monday, Aug 29th, at 1pm sounds great to me. Lance, we were only a mile or two from the West Road in Waterboro, I think, and that's where I'd like to turn around.
Older, slower, and trying to keep up with Tall Dave.
It feels strange, but I just puit this in my calendar.
