The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner (Read 435 times)

Just finished this short story by Alan Sillitoe. The story is pretty much the polar opposite of every running book I've ever read, but well worth the short time it took to read. I think it's inspired a movie, which I plan to check out from the library too.

I love this book too Carl. Its funny how he doesn't start out as a traditional runner but there are some passages that really hit home on some of the beauty and rawness that running can be. Let me know if the movie's any good- I didn't even know there was one. The movies about Pre are pretty decent in case you haven't seen them. THey make you want to run at least.
