The Greatest of All Time

    Bm -- F# -- A -- Em -- G -- D -- Em -- F# -- F#7 MTA, at least I think so. Can't remeber the chorus chord w/o actually playing it though. Starts with G I think.
Except for the F#7, yeah. Nothing tricky about the solo either. Except it's long as shit. Kind of like Freebird. Easy to get lost.

      Except for the F#7, yeah.
I've always played that last bar as two counts of F# and two counts of F#7. Try it, you might like it. Yeah, as far as solos go, it's a long one. Not my problem, I have no lead chops, only chord strumming underneath it all.

Might give it a go tonight. I am trying to hear that chord in my head and can't place it. I usually just pick out or arpeggiate all the notes of the last F# to give it the dynamic heard on the record. You are probably picking up some of the same notes by changing positions and it's likely the same thing. Didn't know you played. Nice to know. Makes our candidacy that much cooler. And that song you posted the link to in the swamp....I admit I like the damn thing too. It was well placed in Boogie Nights which had a great soundtrack.

My dad's pretty good and has about 35 guitars in the house at a given time. As a result of his generosity, I am currently "borrowing" a 6-string acoustic, 12-string acoustic, an Epiphone (Casino, I think. Some kind of semi-hollow body) and a cheap bass. I didn't start playing until I was like 18 or so (big mistake, should have started younger, esp with all those guitars laying around, but I was a fucktard), so I pretty much suck. But I do know my chords quite well.

Yeah, the Boogie Nights soundtrack is how I have that song.

Yes, Gus was a stud. Much respect. That series that just ran on the Discovery channel reignited my love of early NASA history. Being high-level math challenged myself, I cannot fathom how they all pulled it off. Amazing.
I just found out that we are going to some big black-tie shin-dig for NASAs 50th anniversary in September. WE are going to a meet and greet with all the old astronauts. Im stoked! Not to mention I get to buy a dress! MTA: Glad you are okay, Marcus. Here's to better days!

Marcus, there you are! Glad to see you. Shoot, I learned classical piano and don't know chords. I'll have to get one of my kids to teach me about them. Andreia, I got to meet Robert Crippen in 1984, when he spoke to our Tau Beta Pi chapter. What a nice guy! His daughter was in engineering school the same time I was. You're lucky you'll get to meet a bunch of those guys!

I am so incredibly jealous. I hope you enjoy what an opportunity that will surely be.

DH used to run the engineering dept at white sands test facility in NM where they do test flights on the T38s. Pretty cool thing to see the guys and gals there. There is something special about the older ones though. They are very unique people. Marcus, I could probably hook you up with a 5O year old divorcee who I'm sure will be looking for a date!

                              Bm -- F# -- A -- Em E -- G -- D -- Em -- F# -- F#7
Oops, that first Em should just be E. I knew that didn't look right. As far as the F#7, you can live without it during repeats of the verses, but it leads really nicely into the G on the chorus. Though I agree with you that the 7th (E) just gets kind of arrpegiated when you play it. Back to your astronauts.

You're such a dork. But alas, last night before bedtime while the wife was upstairs getting ready for bed, Just Marcus picked up his trusty acoustic and picked out the intro to HC and launched into a full fledged peformance of the song in its entirety. I even went so far as to adjust the solo on the fly to fit the acoustic. Mrs. Just Marcus was humming along from overhead (cause we know how Japanese people are with karaoke and whatnot). I kissed my guitar goodnight just where she likes it. Brushed my teeth, kissed the wife good night, and slept. And I dreamt. And oh how I dreamt. There I was inside 5150 with EVH himself armed with my trusty Les Paul, a cigarette, and a pick. Together with the rest of the original VH lineup we ripped into "On Fire" from VH1 with EVH and myself splitting the solo Iron Maiden style and it was good. Then at 4:45 I was startled from my dream and realized I had to get up and go to the gym and that my life is incredibly dull and uninteresting. And I sighed. But then quickly remembered that two weeks ago I relearned how to play that very VH song note for note and in my dream I showed the master himself I could chop it out but then was kindly reminded he actually wrote it. Damn. It's one thing thing to play Eruption. It's an entirely different thing to have created that shit from nothing. That single piece of music revolutionized the rock guitar forever.
