Maybe its in the genes (Read 139 times)

Slow-smooth-fast

I thought I would introduce myself to the group. I have been running for about a year now, and I am really hooked to running. I love going out and forgetting all problems etc! This is why I think I want to do an ultra, I have been upping my mileage and am up to 20 miles for my long run. I am going out today for 3 hours or more, so see how it goes. I run long and slow. If I have done 20 miles, feeling ok at the end, but perhaps feet a little sore, how hard should it be to get to 50? And what sort of time frame? My uncle, Terrence Edmondson of England was a famous ultra runner in his time in the 80s and did some mad multi day events, so hopefully it will be in the genes!

"I've been following Eddy's improvement over the last two years on this site, and it's been pretty dang solid. Sure the weekly mileage has been up and down, but over the long haul he's getting out the door and has turned himself into quite a runner. He's only now just figuring out his potential. Consistency in running is measured in years, not weeks. And over the last couple of years, Eddy's made great strides" Jeff 14 Jan 2009
