    LC Runs

Hello!  I am back from camping and back to the boards.  Had such a nice time, I do not want to log in to work today LOL.  At least it's another short week, I only work today and tomorrow and we are off Fri/Monday.

I did run, hike and bike on our trip.  Monday, BF and I did 3 and then yesterday I ran a bit over 4 miles.  This morning, I did a weight routine.

I am completely out of the loop so will try and catch up at some point!

Elina - whoo hoo, almost race time!!

Morning! I have 11 with some crazy mile intervals that will turn off my TM but I have the new Nike Alphafly to try!

Elina, yeap. There is taper madness for real.

Laura, this is my off Friday so it makes the weekend much better! Glad you are back and hope you had fun.

Me: "I want to go out for a short run today to see if my body still remembers what running feels like''

DH: ''Your last run was THREE DAYS AGO''

To help my cold (and nerves, but he wouldn't admit that) he mixed a glass of hot apple tea w bit of vodka last eve. Our drink shelf had some remains of Estonian, Russian and Finnish vodka. Obviously, the Finnish one (Koskenkorva) was selected, quoting DH, ''the proper choices for the marathon start here!''. He's been amazing support in last few days!

Yes, I am slightly panicking. Headaches? Less, but not gone. Overall ''meh'' energy levels - improved, but still not ok. Covid? No. (Did two tests w 4 day gap, as per guidelines, to be sure before travel). I'll survive the race no matter what, but it would be fun to have positive experience, not survival race. Anyway, OMG, we leave in /checks time/ 36hrs!!! I checked my FB feed history and realized my very first post of 2020 was on 01.01.2020: ''first steps preparing for Nuuksio Trail marathon'' and a 10k run in below freezing temps. And now it's here!!!

3 for me plus 30 minute of HIIT (arms and abs).

Man, it is STICKY out there today. YUCK!! We have had 2 days of nothing but rain and today is cloudy and super humid. Fall?? Are you coming soon?!

Heading up North a little later this morning. Figures I had this mapped out and ready and I get an email this morning asking us to indicate which sites we would like to change due to distance. Figures, right? Oh well, guess I am going to *hopefully* be helping someone out on their inspections!

Kilmisters – Girl, you are almost there. Hang in there. Hoping your cold symptoms improve over the next couple of days! Excited for you!!

Laura – It looked like you had a great time on your trip! Nice that you have another 4 day weekend! WOOT! I am hoping we are free to leave early Friday, but probably not.

Docket – Good luck on the 11! Woohoo for the new shoes!

Talk with you all later! Have a great day.

Super exciting, Elina!  Both for the race and travel!  Still 36 hours to continue to feel better.  SO SWEET of DH to be supportive.

Never made it here yesterday.  Attempted multiple times but work is just insane. Did strength fitness class yesterday and a short bike.  Will run after my 8am call this morning.  Cold here.  Blerg.  Oh!  Anyone have any experience or know someone that has a Peloton bike?

Damaris - good luck with your crazy 11!

Laura - welcome back!  Your camping trips sound fun.  Looks like you were near water which is always so relaxing to me.  Do you always go to the same place?  Am I remembering you have a pop-up or some sort of trailer type camper?

Liz - wishing you safe and productive travel today.  Fun to run in a new place!  Just read today's post - so now you don't have to travel as far?  Man, I would be frustrated and annoyed with all that disorganization.  Fall is HERE.  Too bad you can't visit!

CC - glad the hamstring is feeling better!  Keep up the healing!  Not dumb at all to do challenges like that - keeps you motivated!  What are the Garmin badges all about anyway?

Kat - cool orange!  Yes - let's see the new tat!  So sweet of you to send baby clothes.  I'm sorry work is so annoying.  I'm in the same boat.  Can we just run away to Thailand or something??

Cathy - awesome running as usual.  Loving seeing you work harder to get that heart rate up!  You are faster than you think!  I love wicker.  And, love sitting outside.  I'd be out on your patio every night!!  Hope the first day of school went well for you guys.  I'm on-call again starting Monday 9am.  So no long weekend here.  But, will cherish Sat and Sun!

Judy - good idea about the pepper spray.  I honestly am not surprised nobody came out since I yelled pretty loud.

Sue - hope you are feeling better!

Ready for the weekend as usual.  Half way there!

              Seloc

And, hey, all you dog owners - what would you recommend for oral flea/tick?  Thanks mucho!

HI! Rest day yesterday helped.  Sinus headache is better thank goodness.  Just walked w DH and Skye this morning.

OMG!!!!! We are adopting!!!!  Was talking with the weim rescue coordinator yesterday about transporting an owner surrender to a foster home. They arrange several volunteers to drive an hour or two to move rescue dogs across the south. We are one of the few in our area, so I told her I would. Then she asked if we were still thinking of getting another dog, and I told her maybe....turns out they have one puppy left from a hoarding/breeder rescue. So we are getting an 11 week old male weim puppy this weekend!! Have to drive to Atlanta to get him, but DH was ok with it. Wink  We haven't told Skye about her baby brother yet.

Kat--I really like the orange pic! DH is thinking of getting a real camera. IDK what it is, but his nephew is upgrading and selling his Nikon(?).

Sandy--we don't give oral flea/tick meds. Kat--does Heart Guard provide that? We usually don't have a bug problem.

Better get--conf call in 10 minutes.

Sandy, hoping work is less hectic today. I know at least 10 people that have a Peloton bike. They all love it.

Morning. I'm probably taking a rest day here. This is supposed to be our last overnight in the 80s as it gets slightly better before the cold front next week. You know, the cold front 2-3 days after I run my virtual Boston on Sunday. Huckles is such a baby I don't want to leave him alone - he's whining and sigh-crying a lot and did most of the night, which means I got a crappy night's sleep. I know neutering is best for him, but my god, he's such a drama queen. He makes me feel so bad about it.

Elina, so excited the race is almost here! You are going to do just fine. Glad DH is being so supportive and helpful.

Laura, welcome back! Two days sounds like maybe enough time to get through everything that happened while you were gone, then it's time for a four-day weekend. Perfect.

Damaris, enjoy that workout. Hope the TM can handle it and you don't have to run frantically around your house towards the end.

Liz, there is apparently a giant cold front coming to the middle of the country next week that could possibly even affect us. I looked at the map and saw it doesn't help the west coast, but I don't remember how far east it goes. But since weather generally goes from west to east, seems like you'd have relief on the horizon. Hope the trip north and the inspections go well. Oh, and so happy on the negative result yesterday!

Sandy, one of my friends has a Peloton bike and the neighbors (remember Sean?) got a Peloton tread a few months back. Both love them. I just finally switched the boys from frontline to Nexgard chews. I went with that one because the dogs think they are treats. Also, they like their heart worm pills plus I had just gotten six months worth, or I would have probably tried the new one the had - Simpirica Trio I think, which does fleas and ticks plus heart worm.

Susan, that is so exciting! A puppy! I am so happy for you.

It's gray & dreary again. I'm so ready to go back to bed. 6 miles with 12 x 400 this morning. Considering the temp & dewpoints were both 72, it went better than expected.

Kilmisters, do you have allergies? Here the pollen has been awful, so lots of covid like symptoms.

                          LCRUns, nice short work week!

Docket, hope the treadmill stays on. Is it still under a warranty?

Lizzie, it's been so damp around here there are mushrooms growing in people's yards.

                          Seloc, no Peleton for me.

                          CrazySue, awww, a puppy!

AnonymousGuest, poor Huckles. Does he get any sort of pain pills?

It is but I don't think there is anything wrong with it. Google seems to think it needs more lubrication as the belt might be creating friction and turning it off. The other option would be that the plugs downstairs cannot handle the TM volts with everybody around me at home. I think it's the lubrication because we lubricated it two months ago and then the problem started. I just don't want to lubricate it again since Fall is coming up and then I won't use the TM for months and then have to lubricate it again so I want to save the wasted one. It turns on a few minutes after it turns off so no biggie except my patience. And it only happens when I'm running fast.

Damaris, waiting for feedback/comments on Nike Alphafly. The hype is huge. As for testing, yup, it's free and available, you just have to register a day in advance. Test results come back in max 24hrs, sometimes even in 3hrs or so. 2 tests in 4 days is a general guideline to be 100% sure the first one wasn't either false negative or taken when the virus is already in the body, but not yet spread enough to be caught by the test.

Sue, aww, so nice Smile Obviously, we're expecting pictures!! Big grin Big grin

HCK, no allergies. So, it must be common cold.

Hopefully, our Northern neighbors Estonia don't strike slightly above average Covid case numbers today and tomorrow, or I'll have to quarantine after the return (14-day cumulative count per 100k population, as on Friday, is used by Latvia to set the quarantine regulations for the next 7 days). I did the math; to exceed the threshold coefficient of 16, they have to have a total of 44 cases today and tomorrow. That's not impossible, looking at recent numbers. We have company meeting on Wednesday and I realllllyyy don't want to join via Webex (instead of seeing my colleagues in person) + DH has Ironman in Estonia on Friday, so none of us would be allowed to go to store or anything = additional planning. Ugh. 2020 sucks.
