Weather stalking Thursday (dailies) (Read 20 times)

Kilmisters

It's been raining quite regularly + wind & 65*F is not warm at all combined w all this. I feel that layering will be last moment pre-race decision on Saturday.

Cathy, I'd say ''whatever makes her happy'' attitude is 100% fine as long as the piercing is done in earlobes only Big grin

Tessa, we could theoretically practice w masks on, but it would be nearly impossible to do anything reasonable (simplistic shot practice aside), given how anaerobic the sport is. It's like intervals.

Margaret, woohoo, reunion!! <3 But no checks at the airport, seriously?!? How do they (they being, uhm, USA) expect to end this if simple stuff is not done?

12k w 6x30sec hill repeats last night. (Way) too much (darkkkk) coffee during the day, not enough food = feel asleep on the couch right after shower and never moved Big grin 10 easy k planned this eve. Then rest day tomorrow & race on Saturday!! I need to finally have proper lunch/dinner today/tomorrow, otherwise I'll just die out there and no Clif Bloks will help me.

      Back to Excels.

6 for me with 10 min ab workout.

Took it nice and slow today and felt much better. I am SPENT, though. Need lots of hydration today.

I slept so good from 10-4. HCDH came to bed around 4 and then I was awake until 5:30. I could use a nap! Lots of calls today about site inspections starting next week and also COVID duty "on call" schedule. Not sure how they expect us to do both?? Guess we shall see!

So glad tomorrow is Friday! Going to ask my co-worker if she can cover some days for me so I can take an extended Labor Day holiday.

Margaret – Congrats on DH coming home!!! I am sooo happy for you two! 😊 😊 I am sure you had a lot to catch up on..and yes, my mind is going there. Maybe you should have taken today off too?? 😊

Judy – I mean, you always have to make time for dessert, right? Glad to hear DC is OK – hopefully nothing serious!

Tessa – Nice running yesterday. I am sure it is nice to have RN to spend time with during this mess!

Kilmisters – Earlobe piercings only? Well that’s no fun 😊. Nice run yesterday! You have a lot going on no wonder you passed out on the couch. Good luck with the run today. Crossing my fingers that the weather turns out great for the race Saturday!

        Happy Thursday!

          Morning! I have an RD.

Elina, it's been raining here too but not cooling us down. Nice hill repeats.

Liz, that's what you should do in this heat and humidity anyway.

          Damaris

3.5 miles in really hot humid steamy weather. Called it at 3.5. Just too hot.

Margaret----YAY!!!!!! I know you are thrilled to have DH home after all this time. Enjoy spending time together!!

Tessa--Yes, I have been reading that knitting and quilting are more popular as folks are staying home. I've got two quilts in progress--one is a wall hanging that just needs the binding sewn down, the other is a monster project that I want to hang as wall art above the sofa. Just finished knitting a shawl and am working on a pair of stripey socks and a hoodie for Cameron.  I started a lace top but frogged it last night. I kept losing stitches in the lace pattern and decided I can't pay attention well enough right now.  It is very good for me to have my hands busy. Smile  You know you can order yarn from your local yarn store, right Wink

Haircut today!!!!  I am so excited!!! My hair is getting really long and I think I will have her add highlights. I haven't colored it since March. The line of demarcation is not too bad, but I think highlights would help. I couldn't decide if I wanted to just grow it out and live with the gray..... I want to look nice for DS2's October wedding, so I thought I would try the highlights now to see how I like it. I can always just color it again before the wedding. Or not.

Rode my bike to Mom's yesterday. 2.4 miles one way. Karen, a century is fun, but start now.  We used to do 1-2 rides a week, long rides on the weekend and worked up to 100+ before IMTX.  If you are riding that much, make sure your bike fits. The computerized bike fit was SO worth the money! And of course, practice nutrition and hydration. Wink

              4.4 this morning, perfect weather!

Elina - I hope the weather is okay for your race on Saturday - I'm sure you will do great!!

Lizzie - nice 6 - I should do an ab workout today.  I did 10 minute arms yesterday, I love those workouts.  I need a shorter leg one that I can do mid morning or mid afternoon on a break.  Guess I could just do 1/2 of one.  Your work week next week sounds "interesting", ugh

Damaris - have a nice rest day!

Sue - enjoy the hair appointment. I have read that a nice way to grow out the silver is to get some 'baby highlights" put in to make it blend better.  I'm sure it will look great, whatever you do!

              Bikerchick1

Elina - I’m jealous of your “weather stalking”...LOL.  Hope you have good weather for Saturday!

Lisa - The Zoo-da Mackinaw should be so fun!  We use to do a lot of organized bike rides.  We found out yesterday bikes are in very short supply - we were looking for a new bike for DH, and our local store owner was telling us he can’t even get bikes for people, and they are saying possibly early next year Sad    I bet you really miss seeing Indy DD!

Lizzie - Would be nice for you to have some extra days off around Labor Day! Too much stress For you!

Margaret - Yay that DH is home!  I bet you are both so relieved.

Lori - That is too bad that your RB doesn’t “get it”...and leave you along about the FA...sometimes running alone is preferable.

Crazysue - Yay on the haircut!  Sometimes it’s the little things!

Tessa - I can imagine you can’t wait to see your DD!

Laura - Have you heard anything about St. Pat’s race?

Had a great combo trail/asphalt run with RB the other day.  I did a trip and fall on a root, but no harm done.  Beautiful weather, beautiful trail!

                Off to golf with DH.

                  Back again

Damarias - Rest day...don’t hear you say that very often!!!

HCK - The reason I asked where you were from - I wasn’t stalking ... Wink  A few of us were looking at doing some Fall Appalachian Trail day hikes, WV, MD, PA area and I was curious what things were like with  COVID.  I checked the  NPS website for Harpers Ferry and found that most of the NPS amenities are closed. We decided to postpone the trip.

Karen - am loving your trip photos.  Is the virus impacting the areas that you want to see?

Sandy - Are you still enjoying your house???

Cathy - Yikes on COVID and TF.  What are the plans for your DD’s school?  What a dilemma for parents.

                  Carol

                  Seloc

Tessa - nice double with the neighbor!  Hooray for getting to see DD soon.

Judy - you are so trendy with your piercings!    Glad DC is doing well.

Laura - your tall friend sounds cool.  I laughed at DD wanting a job where she doesn't have to do people.  I understand!  Interesting that a piercing is supposed to help with migraines - I have never heard of that!  Will have to share with neighbor friend.  Though, with her, pretty sure it's because she drinks coffee all day long and never water.  The weather here is pretty darn perfect as well.  Shhhh, don't tell Lizzie

Margaret - oooh, I am just SO HAPPY for you and DH!!  That's crazy that nothing was done at the airport when he arrived on an international flight.  I was reading that it is up to the states.  I have heard of two people going to Hawaii that are required to self quarantine for 14 days.  Just saw something about ND, too.  Oh, well, you know I'm the arrogant one who claims to do all the work.  I'm sure some would disagree and that everyone is "busy".  I prefer the smaller zukes and yellow squash.  The size you can cut into nickels and then roast in the oven.  Sooooo good!

Liz - I didn't realize you were no longer on the BoA account.  I TOTALLY agree that we are ALL going to get the COVID at some point.  I mean, hasn't everyone had the flu?  Miss Lily did well at her nail appointment.  Saying that makes me laugh - like she's a person haha.  But, she was soooooooooooo scared.  I helped get the little harness thing on her and then the took her and stood her up on the table and I could see her shaking like a leaf!  But, she didn't bark or freak so that was good!  Glad you got some good sleep (at least part of the night) and took it easy on your run.  You deserve some time off!!

HCK - maybe in time I could attempt to trim Lily's nails myself but for $10 I think I'll probably just keep going to Petco.  Wow, those are some big cukes!   Are you making anything special with them?

Karen - totally agree that probably everyone here could do a century ride based on fitness.  Even slow gramma here.  Only thing I worry about is a sore booty!!  LOL

Cathy - how many new holes did DD get?  That reminds me, I haven't put earrings in in months.  Maybe I should see if the holes are still open.  Since they have been there for over 30 years pretty sure all is good   Oh man, totally jealous of your time off.  I have a week at the end of the month and that is most likely it for the rest of the year based on workload.  Ugh.

Kat - that list you posted yesterday is hilarious!!  SO.  TRUE.  Have fun in NOLA!

Carol - sounds like a fun adventure run!  Glad the fall was nothing serious.  Oh, man, I love LOVE my house still.  Incredibly grateful and happy that I did this all before the world fell apart.  Pretty sure I would be miserable if I were still in my old place.  Here there are new areas to explore, I have the one walking friend (the girls from the old 'hood aren't running and the one is on STD because of anxiety and agoraphobia over COVID) and most important, Lily!!  Have fun golfing today!

                    Sue - hooray for haircut!

Damaris - enjoy the rest day!  I agree, you don't take those too often.

Elina - killer workout!  That will be tricky with wind and rain and temp.  But, you'll figure it out.  Is the family coming to watch?

Short bike ride yesterday afternoon and 5mi this morning with a couple faster than normal for me miles in the middle then a cooldown walk with pupper.  Review was fine.  Boring, really.  And I chickened out and didn't mention how I wish he could dial back the micro-managing.  Boss is off now until the 10th so the mice will play!  Intense call with huge customer today that I'm hoping goes well.  Could use some social interaction but no plans for that.  Haven't talked to or seen anyone (besides the random strangers I pass on the streets) in about 10 days.  Guess I'm unintentionally quarantining?  Story of my life.  Oh, now Bismarck marathon canceled as well.  Guess the numbers in ND are rising.

                    Half Crazy K 2.0

5.5 miles this morning. Got forced into the middle of the road by 3 members of the running club. 2 were on the sidewalk & 1 on the road to "distance". I had no where to go and they made no effort to move for me.I was technically on the wrong side (had traffic to my back), but I was getting ready to cross at the traffic circle, which is the first marked crossing. Ugh.

Kilmisters, for 65 and rainy, I'd be more worried about wet clothes, so would probably go with capris to avoind having wet shorts rubbing everywhere.

Lizzie, hope you can get your co-worker to cover, you definitely need a break.

                      Docket, enjoy your rest day.

                      CrazySue, enjoy the haircut.

LCRuns, I've been breaking up the leg workouts I do into 2 workouts. Makes it easier time wise & I am slightly less sore.

Bikerchick, aside from the NPS closures, the areas in MD where the Appalachian trail run are in pretty good shape. I think the bulk of it goes through Washington County (where my parents live) and they have had less than 1000 cases. That area is far less populated in the central part of the state.

I think the holes from my ear piercing have closed. No big deal to me.

                        5 miles for me today.

9 easy miles today, I had 7 on the plan and it somehow changed to 9...   DD's ear piercing went fine, though we witnessed someone trying to steal a car!  We were waiting at a stoplight and there was a car parked on the side of the street with a man inside it.  All of a sudden the car alarm goes off and a SUV pulls up alongside the car, the man got out and hopped into the SUV and they drove off.  It happened so fast, it didn't occur to me at the time that I should get the license plate of the SUV.  It was probably also stolen...

Elina, ah, the weather stalking!    Yes, I would only have agreed to the ear lobe piercings!  Any other ones would wait until she is 18.    Make sure to hydrate and carb up!

Liz, nice 6!  Yes, hydrate!    I was sleeping OK until I got an emergency alert on my phone at 1 AM... about reporting suspicious activity in an area west of us...  nap would be good today...

                              Damaris, enjoy the RD!

Sue, yay for a cut and color!

Laura, you got perfect weather?  No humidity?

Carol, glad you did not get hurt!  They were having meetings about school this week... I expect the plan to be announced soon, other towns around us have announced theirs, as well as Milwaukee.  They are all starting the school year virtual.  COVID numbers continue to go up here.  Stores are finally requiring masks.  Enjoy the golf!

Sandy, cute video on Insta!  I hope the customer call goes well.  Enjoy the play time.     DD got 2 new holes in each ear, so now she has 3 per ear.  The earrings she picked were very small and classy.    I think you are good with the ear holes, I haven't worn earrings for months and the holes are still there... I put them in occasionally if I feel like it, just small studs... There was some weird stuff in the body piercing store, I had no idea what some of the things were... I sent a photo to TF and he responded, "Huh?"

Kupcakes, I don't like it when runners don't practice good etiquette.    Bikers tend to be worse though!  I noticed that you have been running earlier!

Judy, cool that you added those additional piercings!

Margaret, I am so glad that DH finally made it home!!  I may have cheered when I read that...  That is surprising that they did not do any screening.  Though I suppose they figure it is worse for planes coming from the US.  Yes, I am also fairly reclusive.  TF is careful about going out, always wears a mask... except when biking... I guess I can't fault him on his son's exposure.
