      8.2 miles for me.

Crappy run. I guess I knew it was coming..74 degrees 73 dewpoint. BLAH. I was raining in sweat. Today and tomorrow are supposed to be awful as far as humidity goes. We are supposed to get a bit of relief Thursday and Friday but not much. I am ready for this to be OVER. Have I said that before? I have a mid-week long run with intervals tomorrow..may have to skip the intervals. Or just not look at my watch at all and go by effort. The humid runs also upset my stomach!

Heading to a tasting after work. We have high expectations for this caterer. They really know what our vision is as far as the food stations, and had some really great ideas. Plus their price is AWESOME. I am hoping everything is delicious!!! My parents are coming down for this one.

Another day.....Mammel goes on vacation again next week. I guess there is that to look forward too!

Susan – OH! LOL. Sorry, must have been Monday. Haha.

Kilmisters – I say don’t answer the phone while on vacation!!! Nice Monday miles!!

Laura – This humid weather SUCCKKKSSS. Nice miles! A flip phone?! REALLY? I didn’t even realize they still had those! I didn’t think you could even have them anymore because of the cellphone plans these days. All the data and etc. Your 14 year old really had no idea what a flip phone is!? Oh man, that makes me feel old!

Tessa – Can I be on your cellphone account too?! My parents kicked me off years ago! Nice of you to keep them on your plan. You did a race not too long ago though, right? I think you will make it by cut off time. I have faith!

      Happy Tuesday!

      Mighty Mouse

Monday was getting hot and the Dew Point was rising. I decided to run on the TM for 35 minutes. It works well because I can drink water every five minutes that way.

Today I plan to run but also do some XT. I need a good plan to do a short variety of activities.

Making soup to cook tomorrow. Vegetable beef. Crock pot.

        Happy runs, All!

        Where is the "any" key?

Good Morning - 3.5 humid miles for me.  I really needed the stress relief though cause work is really causing me angst.  We had a training last week because our assessments are completing changing, so yesterday marked the start of the new system and we have to build everything new.  Ugh, no one really knows what they are doing.  And we have to do all of our clients now, not when we see them.  It wouldn't be so bad if you could do a few each week.  There is a webinar available that is 2.5 hours long so I guess I will be watching that today.

Lizzie - yes, this place is in the Dark Ages. There was talk a few years ago about getting people upgraded smart phones but they decided it was too expensive.

Judy - nice TM run.  The soup sounds delish!!

5 miles this morning. Much better than Sunday's run. The retired minister was out running and joined me, so that really helped me finish the last two miles strong.

Tessa--Right there with ya. Been trying to get DS1 off my phone account for years. DS2 is going as soon as he has a real job.

Ugh. Boss wants to have a video chat to discuss my work plans for the rest of the week. Back to the real world!

Tessa you are right fires are truly frightening...when I was growing up in FL there were lots of fires and one got as close as the woods across our road.  It's even more so now with all my animals.  Getting the horses, dogs and cats out will be a nightmare but I've a plan.

I did 5 minutes on the rower last night.  It's getting easier but the thought of building up to 20 min is exhausting.

Lizzie the full frontal cracked me up.  Ew.  Enjoy the tasting..hope it's better than the last one.

Cathy I got a small hydration belt from Amazon but I don't really like it...If you message me your address I'd be happy to ship it to you so DD can use it.

Laura that sounds awful.  Good luck on the webinar.

Sue that sounds awful too.  Too bad this isn't a short week.

I have a 50k labor day weekend and they offer a marathon the day after and I'm considering that.  I just have to get out of these doldrums.  Heat never used to bother me but this year it is.

I got mine off when she got married and moved to CO.  Now all I have is the work phone and until they tell me otherwise I'll continue to use it.

Waving to others...may be back if I get some time.  STILL working on the fixed asset audit.

SDO for me, I must be in the groove because I feel guilty for taking a day off....when my mojo is off I don't care.

Liz, I hear you about the bad hair days.  I haven't had a good one in at least a month, unless I have had it done at the salon.  I just don't even blow dry anymore, just scrunch it and let it go, it's half curl and half frizz, but I don't care.

Laura, I hope your day isn't too stressful.

Sue, my oldest is 43 and youngest 31 and we just got the youngest off of our phone plan!  Glad you had a better run today.

Good morning Judy, yeah yesterday was a hot, muggy one.

I don't know what are good hair days...I mean, unless I fly to Chicago or something.

I have Pilates or 0 or 7.  Depends on what mile hubby is at when I get home from Pilates.  My throat is sore but I bit my mouth yesterday and I feel some cut areas so maybe it's that.

                  Liz, nice run.

                  Judy, yummy soup.

                  Laura, nice humid run.

                  Susan, nice 5.

                    Diane, ugh at the audit.

                    Ginny, enjoy the day off.

8 shweaty miles with 5 x hill repeats.  Coolish but humid.  Both temp/dewpoint high 60s.  Coulda been worse.  So tired and sore from yesterday.  I am always ALWAYS surprised how those work outs just wipe me out.  Whew.

Kinda chuckling at the kids on phone plans discussion.  My parents never had a mobile phone!  Heck, they managed to never even own a credit card.

Laura – cracking up at the flip phone and your son didn’t know what it was.  Have they ever seen an old dial phone?  Or a console tv?  It’s crazy how far technology has come in our lifetime!  Sorry work is so stressful.  Hang in there!

Elina – nice 8 mi last night!  Oh boy, wellllll, I would say (completely unsolicited and only my own opinion) if you want to PR you might want to skip the floor ball game.  But, if it’s an important game you don’t want to miss and just want to run the HM for fun, then go for it!  Of course, plenty of time to ponder and such.

Lizzie – ewwwwwwwww on the full mammal frontal!  So weird.  I wonder if he really does wear diapers??  You don’t like doing triceps?  Oh man, I think that’s one of the easier exercises.  I welcome that in the mix cuz it feels like a break haha.  It’s my BOOTY and hamstrings that are sore from the single leg stuff and squat to high pull.  Ouchie!  But powering up the hill did help a bit.  Switched stuff around this week because I’m going to a friends lake place Fri aft – Sun morning.  And I want to go to TRX/Bells class.  Plus, my “long run” is only 11mi this week so easier to squeeze in on a weekday.  Oh boy, I cannot even IMAGINE riding on the back of a crotch rocket!  But, a Harley might be nice.  Is he just LOVING it?

Cathy – awwww I felt bad reading about DDs race.  Good you were there to pull her through!  That is sweet that she thanked you.  What does she think about it all now?  Congrats on the 10 mile long run!  Yeah, humidity is back for sure.  Not horrible but I still would like those dewpoints in the 50s please.  Oh!  I’m about 1/3 or so way through that book you recommended.  Loving it!  That quirky IT guy is sweet.

Diane – glad your eyes are better.  I can’t believe they still allow smoking in the casino!  Yuck.

Karen – find anything at Kohls?  Cracking up at “puppies can be assholes sometimes” hahahahaha  They are soooooooooo cute!  I am in love with German Shorthairs.  I think that’s what I want when I retire.  An R name for the puppy would be super cute.

Kat – wow, nice 8 miles yesterday!  That Ginny is a good motivator, isn’t she.

Lizzie2 – I was raining sweat today, too, and my temp/dewpoint was about 6 degrees cooler.  Nice job!  Oh and I haven’t had good hair in quite some time either.  MMMMmmmmmmmmmm have fun at the tasting tonight!!

Judy – good idea to stay indoors in that kind of weather.  Your soup sounds good!

Sue – nice miles.  Ugh on the boss chat.  Hope she is reasonable!

Ginny – enjoy that rest day!  Guilt not allowed.

Damaris – ouch on the cut mouth.  What were you eating?  Capn Crunch?  LOL – that’s what came to mind.  I haven’t eaten that in years and years and years but I remember it doing a number on the mouth.

Kinda boring day here.  Just workin for the weekend as usual…

                      Kilmisters

I need vacaaaaaaaayyy. Countdown continues. The day hasn't been that bad. We have a new colleague and I'm no longer all alone in "my" corner. That means I will actually have to behave myself after hanging up the phone etc. haha.

Might do the tempo run today, we have another heat wave starting tomorrow. Ugh.

Laura, so the whole organizational process of your work - system/goals/everything has changed? Or is it just the evaluation system as a tool itself? Either way, sounds annoying. Running helps w anger management for sure.

Sandy, if the game is re-scheduled (to the day before HM), I'll skip it. I am totally ready for backlash from team, but screw it, seriously.

Sandy, I have an Australian Shepard and some people who own them call the "aussholes" and believe me it fits.  He's gotten better as he's gotten older but sometimes he's just an ass.  Smart as hell.

Ginny did I ever tell you I love your profile pic?  You look so strong there.

Elina did I tell you about wanting to do 12 hours on the TM?  Or the 24 hours on a track?  I'm still dreaming about doing a 100 miler and I'm thinking the best way is to do a 48 hour race since I'm so slow.  Timed races tho are typically done on a loop...most I've seen is 5 miles but 1 to 2 is more common.  The 12 hour KUS I'm doing in Nov is a 2.1 mile loop. That will tell me how well I might like small loops.  I don't like out and back repeats.  My favorite is a point to point.

82 with a dew point of 77. If I was doing anything other than a short, slow, easy run, it would have been on the TM. 6 miles in the neighborhood. Meeting my group tonight for their first hill workout, so I'll probably get another 3 or so with that, unless I wimp out because it's too hot and just "coach" instead of participate.

Laughing over here at the cell phone plans. I now have both my parents on my cell phone plan. Never on theirs as a kid, as I'm old and cell phones didn't exist then. When my mom wanted an iPhone a couple years ago but my dad didn't want to pay the higher bill for it, I added her to our plan. Then we my dad got his younger sister's old iPhone when she upgraded late last year, I added him as well. He insisted on paying me for his and sent me a check for a year, but it's honestly not that much more (I think extra phones are $15 each/month) so I'm hoping he forgets about it and doesn't keep sending checks. It's the least I can do, and it's nice that he finally has an iPhone instead of his flip phone. I remember once he sent a pretty long text to my niece on his flip phone and she said she almost cried when she read it, because "it must have taken him an hour to do it" on his old phone. Anyway, DH and I both still have Maryland phone numbers, but my parents in Illinois now both have Texas phone numbers.

Tessa, of course we were joking about that last name suggestion! Yes, I guess I am taking name suggestions. I kinda like the idea of two R names. Maybe Rex? Or Rerun.....I still like Rerun.

Cathy, I love your DD. I'm glad she pushed through and finished!

Liz, hope the caterer appt goes well.

Laura, so you have to go see all your clients and do new assessments? That sounds like a pain. Are you still sharing nurses?

Susan, work plans for the rest of the week.....get through all these stupid emails? I'm guessing that's not what the boss is going to want, even though it's probably not far off the mark.

Diane, the heat is bugging me more than usual this year too. And DH too. I've been told it bothers you more as you get older, so I hope it doesn't get worse or we'll have to move back north! I'm hoping mine is more just an adjustment due to menopause and once I get used to it I'll be fine again. I'm just making that up, but hey, whatever gets me through!

Ginny, love seeing you with all this mojo. Just remember you're getting stronger on your day off!

D, good luck on whatever your evening workout brings.

Sandy, I'm laughing at your Captain Crunch comment. Kroger had boxes of it on sale with another dollar off coupon so I actually have a box of Peanut Butter Crunch in the pantry. Haven't had it in ages but it just looked good, and with the coupon.....I figure it's okay to eat crappy kids cereal every once in awhile.

I didn't make it to Kohls yesterday. Coupon is good I think through this weekend so I'll probably get there one day this week. I mean, 30% off there means they'll probably just give me clothes and money as I walk in the door.

Upcoming races: Hennepin Hundred - October 2024

Check out my website and youtube channel

5.2 miles for me this morning. Was a drippy mess when done but at least there was a few rain drops so I could pretend it wasn't all my sweat. LOL Will try to get a lot of miles in again this week. Last week was 42, which for me is high. I have a summer friday on, you guessed it, friday so will do some trail miles. Then Saturday is a free training run on the 16.66 mile loop for Woodstock. I'm planning on doing 2 loops of it. Will run those a little more on pace than I've been lately with my slower run buds. Hope to get out Sunday then too for miles. That will be the peak for the cycle. Marathon on the 25th and possibly a half the day after, if I make it off the wait list. Then taper to the 7th. We start a Step challenge on work on 9-4. Everyone wanted me on their team. Bwahaha!

Lizzie-good hair day in a couple of months maybe. good luck with the tasting!

Judy-nice treadmill miles and smart to stay hydrated!

                              Laura-bummer on the work angst!

Sue-real world sort of sucks... guess you didn't win the lottery when on your honeymoon. :-) All of my kids are on my ex's phone plan! When he complained about me being on the "family plan" and getting a divorce, I went out and got my own plan. Then he complained about that since I wasn't contributing to the rest. offered for the kids to come with me but since they offset the overall monthly fee and pay their own part he wanted them to stay. So just me on my phone plan and that's okay. :-)

Diane-I keep bouncing in and out of doldrums... money mainly is the cause.. If only it was because I had too much to figure out what to do with it all. LOL I like the name of your 50k.. Sizzling Sasquatch! Funny.

Ginny-I have perfectly straight hair and even mine is fuzzy. Will be fun to be passed by you at Woodstock!

Damaris-I like the option of 0 or 7. LOL. Made me laugh.

Sandy-At least we are one day closer to that weekend!

Elina-you don't HAVE to behave yourself when off of the phone. Interesting running form! Vacation is coming!

Karen-LOL on you wimping out. Yeah, right. Did you ever add an ultra prior to Brazos Bend? I'd be interested in hearing your training plan for it... I know that you're not like me and have a plan. I plan on showing up and finishing the 100k. So... I guess I do have a plan after all. Been listening lately to lots of different ultra podcasts. You may find them helpful since so much is mental and I don't think, but I could be wrong, that you don't hang with many ultra runners.

So...name change at work has become quite a CF.  I got a new CAC and then spent an hour on the line with the IT guy. The IT guy's first name is DIJON. Who names their kid after mustard??? Cruel.

So now I have to fill out more forms to change my name on the accounts and if my system shuts down I may not be able to log back in.......ugh. So complicated.

Lizzie--Full frontal mammel? You can't unsee that. Ick. I often wonder why the wives let these guys out of the house. I make DH change if he is wrinkly or doesn't match or otherwise look presentable.

                                Have a happy day
